Chapter 40: The Question of Magic IV

Once Nene had departed, Amelia grabbed the basket containing the goods for her old home in Port Marden. Feeling the need for some time to think, she said, 'Anders, I am going to deliver this first and meet you at the markets. That way I will not be rushing at the end of the day.'

Frowning, Anders said, 'I do not understand why your special buyer cannot come to market like everyone else, but I guess now is as good a time as any to make the delivery.'

Shaking her head at Anders' behaviour this morning, Amelia refused to explain her actions to anyone, and headed off along the street, not waiting to see what Anders did.

Cook was pleased to see her, and Amelia added the payment to the purse she carried with her market fees and a small amount of coins for day-to-day purchases. Foregoing a cup of tea because she did not want to leave all the work at the market to Anders, especially not in his present mood, Amelia said her goodbyes.
