CH 22: magic breakthrough

John lated there his body twitching in pain.

Terry saw this and ran straight towards John grabbing him.

"JOHN, JOHN WHAT'S WRONG!" Terry shouted in worry

John couldn't answer. Everytime he tried speaking the pain would worsen and he would start screaming. After five minutes went by his body finally stopped twitching and a warm sensation flowed through his body. John took a few deep breathes and stood up. His legs felt like jelly and he struggled to walk but there was something different about his body, it felt lighter than before it even felt slightly stronger than before. John wondered what had happened until he received a few system notifications and his grin grew.

Terry asked he was OK and John told her about his trying to use magic. Terry smiled at this and told him that he has to teach her in the future to which John obviously agreed. Now looking at the status screen John saw a few good things.

John was surprised at the massive increase in his magic control skill but since he was able to move the magic into his body it made sense. Seeing his new skill and title John decided to check the descriptions.

John smiled as he read through the notifications. After collecting his thought he decided to do some more demonstrations and teaching so he could see how useful his new title was. The group of people this time seemed to grasp the fighting techniques much quicker this time and even managed to finish sooner.

As everyone sat down John decided to start teaching his party how to control magic. With his new title the group all managed to find their magic within an hour, once they down that he then tried explaining how to get the magic to enter the body, this of course required more time and harder work. After three hours of practise the party could move their magic around there spatial area but that was all.

John looked at his status and was happy that he finally knew what the spatial area was called.

The remaining people entered the canteen and spread out. Many slumped down whilst breathing heavily, it seemed that this practise truly took alot out of them. John received a system notification and it turned out that all settlement members who took part in the hunting practice had gained Lv:2 proficiency for the sword, bow, dagger and blunt weapons. Despite not going out and taking part in the hunting the party also gained one level in all of those proficiencies and if they already had that proficiency then it would just level up.

John got everyone gathered from all floors of the cafeteria to the ground floor. Of course the cafeteria otherwise how else could all these people fit in there. Once everyone was gathered albeit slightly cramped, John got to the front to speak to everyone.

"good evening everyone!" he shouted gathering everyone's attention, all muttering and whispering stopped immediately.

"I would like to thank you all for your cooperation so far and your willingness to fight and help those around us. Despite all this work we still have one thing we need to do, and that's to kill the goblins boss who resides on the field!" John spoke with confidence, the words flowing off his tounge.

" now I will not lie to you, some of you may die. No some of you Will die, but remember your sacrifice will help those in the future to reach new heights and to protect others once we leave this damned school?" John paused looking at everyone surveying them with a watchful eye.

"once we kill the boss I promise you, for as long as I live I will do anything in my power to protect you all and create a place where we can live and thrive in peace!" his words kept flowing freely as he became more and more confident.

"now I ask you, help me kill that boss and let us walk away from this place with our pride intact!" John stopped his eyes looking over everyone once more before he stepped away.

Everyone looked at where he once stood in silence.

*CLAP*

it started with and single person slowly clapping before a few more joined in. Within a few seconds every student within the canteen began clapping faster and faster many even giving a whoop and a cheer.

John waited for all the notifications to come through and smiled. With all the stats and abilities gained this version they should easily be able to defeat the goblin mayor and leave this cursed school.
