When it rains

Rain wakes to sunlight fluttering over her shut eyes. The early morning rays wake her from her dreamless sleep. 


Blearily, she sits up from the warm comfort of the bed. It takes her brain a minute to boot up as she remembers what happened last night. 


Curing Ronan, talking with Orion, spending the long hours of the night together. 


She’d fallen asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow last night, after a long trek back to the house with Orion. 


Her face warms as she remembers, how his arms felt around her and how his voice sent shivers down her spine. 


But she also remembers his promises. His story and the words he whispered before she fell into a deep sleep. 


“I promise to do better,” He had whispered in the dead of the night. 


No matter how hard she wanted to, she couldn’t believe him right now. 


But she hoped he could change her mind. 


As Rain got up, she caught wind of a new scent.
