Not every wolf is lucky enough to be born into a pack.

Some had the misfortune to be birthed by rogues.

Banished from the shifters society, Rogues are branded as criminals and treated as less than. Cut off from their packs, most barely last a few years before losing their minds as well.

Rogues-borns are different. Born to savage creatures with no humanity left in their cursed souls, they have no family to mourn, no sins to repent, nothing to lose.

Alpha's decreed all Rogue-borns to be killed on sight, for the protection of the packs.

But Rain isn’t a threat. She was just born unlucky.

Forced into the life of a scavenger on the streets, begging for food from human scraps and always searching for a place to call home.

Until one day, she wanders too far into the forest on the edge of the city.

There, she meets the Ashwood Pack and their Alpha, Orion.

When it rains

Through the leaves, the drops of rain fell.


Orion groaned, looking up at the sky as if it had personally wronged him. “I’m sorry. I didn't know it was going to rain today. Everything’s ruined. I can’t do anything right when it comes to you, it seems.” 


Her eyes were on the sky, the rain falling onto her face as she looked up. A wide smile broke across her face as she gazed upward. 


Rain stepped back from Orion, and he looked at her confused. 


“It’s raining!” she looked at him with a huge smile. 


Rain laughed, stretching her arms out wide as she looked at the sky. 


“It’s raining!” She laughed, soaking herself in the rain. 


“What are you doing?” Orion laughed, bewildered. 


Rain twirled around, breathing in the petrichor. Feet spinning, head reeling, her hair sticking to her face as the sky soaked her to the bone. The dirt and mud squeezed between her bare toes, but she didn’t care.
