A Suicidal Brainiac 02

Xiu Lin still had a cast on his arm and felt a bit irritated. The male protagonist took it upon himself that he should stay home for a while since he was injured because of the car the hit the young man.

'1204, in my next life, can you at least make me older. Why the heck am I always a teenager?' he asked.

On Xiu Lin's left hand, he was holding a pen and started writing a lot of jargons that many people would never truly understand unless they are working on the same thing: field of science and technology in advance chemical and so on and so forth. There were equations, atomic elements, percentages equipment and different type of formulation.

He was doing this because he was bored.

He was only placed in that Fei Yang's unnecessarily giant villa being cared by the house worker robots that usually function in the morning. He didn't mind the care since he was served with tasty snacks and different kinds of services like massage, haircare, manicure and pedicure. It felt like he was on vacation, except, he is injured and his movement is limited. Also, he lost the original body's familiar memory which meant that he is suffering amnesia.

He sat on the sofa lazily, the television was on, playing on discovery channel while he was staring up the ceiling, remembering the words being narrated on the television with ease while thinking about the errors that were said about the certain facts.

He frowned and looked at the wide screen displeased and started correcting the television show himself saying "No, idiot. It's like this, yeah that. No shit talk about the molecular activity blah blah-"

He was so immersed he did not notice Fei Yang leaning on the living room entrance with a hint of amusement on his face watching him fume about the television show's errors to the point that he started speaking to it despite the fact that it wouldn't really give him any response even if it was a mistake.

He held his forehead in distress before leaning his back on the sofa again.

"Are you okay?" Fei Yang finally called out.

Xiu Lin turned his head to the wild mammal that appeared on the doorway and hummed. "You're here. When can I go?" he asked.

Straightforward as always. Fei Yang smiled at him and answered: "When the cast is removed, I will help you recall your memories. Once your memories come back, then only will I be rest assured that you'll be fine to go on your own." He explained.

Xiu Lin is only a seventeen-year-old young man after all. Although he is a genius scientist in the research laboratory, Fei Yang heard the news that he wasn't well appreciated by his coworker due to his introverted and rude-blunt nature. He couldn't be so sure if no one will try to harm him when he's like a clueless lamb who didn't know who is his friend or foe. So, he thought that it's better to keep him in a safe space, let him regain back his memories before letting him fly.

Also, it's because he wanted to spend some time getting to know him. A one in a million encounter of meeting someone who is completely his type. Although this is still young, he can wait. Dating takes time too so by the time he gets to know him, then he'll be able to grow up at the same time.

"Are you hungry? Let's have dinner together." Fei Yang offered.

Xiu Lin could only agree with him when he felt his stomach a bit empty. He already knew that it is such a shameless idea to be very dependent to Fei Yang. But since this guy is loaded, surely the food will be good and classed. Food is Xiu Lin's only source of satisfaction in life now while plotting his own death after all.

In his mind, he's been craving for barbeque for a while now. But his recuperating body say no-no to it for now.

Fei Yang went out of the living room and towards the kitchen. Meanwhile, Xiu Lin yawned. He leaned on the sofa again and watched television while talking to his system.

'Life on earth is boring...' he mumbled.

[Host, this is an intergalactic era! Why not have a tour!] 1204 replied with excitement.

'Outer space sounds interesting. But I don't wanna. It's another waste of energy. But then again, I want to go and see it...''

[Host, your decisions are quite... undetermined.]

'Oh, that's because I do not see the point of going yet at the same time, I feel like changing environment is also nice in a way but it's quite troublesome.' Xiu Lin explains.

[Host, you really are an Astix.]

'Because I am an Astixian. Where did you find a diligent creature that have an Astix blood? Listen 1204, according to intergalactic facts and trivia online, Astixians never got out of their planet despite the fact that they built different types of aircrafts because the people believed that Astixians are introverts.' He said. 'But in fact, they are just lazy. Their brain drains their energy more than anything else. So it's no surprise that their interest would simply sleep at home.'

[Is that so...?]

'Yes, yes. I know my race better than anyone.' Xiu Lin sighed. 'And have you seen their population? They are so lazy to make love that they're an endangered species! I commend our mother for even giving birth to three children, y'know.'

[Wow, host. You're really smart, you even figured that out.] The little system praised.

'I know right? I'm so smart that everyone hates me. How about we commit the suicide now?'

System: [...]

Hearing no response from the all knowing system, Xiu Lin melted his petite body on the sofa as if merging into the soft cushion while he began to selflessly calculate the area of Fei Yang's ceiling from width to base to angles and ratio. His mumbling of numbers almost sounded gibberish when the military man came back to check on him. He could hear the angles and equations but he didn't have enough mental prowess to calculate as fast as the young man could.

He could only watch him with fascination.

"Professor Xiu." He called out.

Xiu Lin stopped his lazy calculation and turned his eyes towards those wolf like grey eyes. "Is dinner ready?" he asked.

"Yes." Fei Yang replied.

Xiu Lin slowly got up from the cushion and stood. His clothes already wrinkled from sinking in the couch while he yawned and made his way towards the dining room of the male protagonist's house. He even found it funny that the commander general of the empire is actually cooking for him and accommodating all his needs.

The two began to eat their dinner. As they did, Fei Yang cleared his throat. "We've found a few information about you, professor Xiu. It might be something of value that will help you drag some memories." he said.

"Okay." Xiu Lin replied, taking a spoonful of rice and place in on his mouth. His cheeks budged out like a chipmunk.

"You're one of the last three descendant of planet Astix." He started.

"Yeah, I can already tell my race." he shrugged lazily.

"Your two biological older brothers are working under my squadron. They serve as our absolute tacticians." he added. "Their names from oldest to youngest are Xiu Hao and Xiu Zuo."

"Okay, that's new." Xiu Lin hummed.

"Your current project is an antidote regarding Moth poisoning."

"Alright. It doesn't ring a bell."

Moth Poison is actually a poison that is carried by hybrid moths. It is not a deadly poison, but it can be said to be fatal just like venomous snakes. Their appearance may have been the same with moths. But they are slightly bigger and their colors are darker in shade so it is easy to distinguish between ordinary moths and poisoned moths. The effect of moth poisoning varied in dizziness, nausea, severe allergic reactions and worst decapitation of the area infected before it spreads that could cause an entire body paralysis. There had been no cases of death caused by moth poisons.

Xiu Lin didn't know why he was researching that in the first place so he disregarded it. But when Fei Yang continued, he finally had an understanding.

"Moth poisons can become an imperial weapon to immobilized enemy soldiers. but miscalculations may lead to an entire army being affected. You were commissioned by the weapons department to make an antidote for their developed moth poisoned bullets."

"How far did I go?" Xiu Lin asked.

"You're actually finished before you got in the car accident. Your antidote had been taken to the weapon department for testing." Fei Yang explained.

"So, where's my commission payment?"

"There was quite a problem with that." Fei Yang said. Xiu Lin raised an eyebrow still in question. So Fei Yang explained. "Your research had been taken credited to someone else. The payment also went to the professor."

"So, someone stole my work while I'm recuperating?" He ate another spoonful of rice topped with pickle. "Okay."

Fei Yang paused. He expected Xiu Lin to get mad or tell him to make him go to the institute to claim his ownership to the antidote back. But he just lazily ate like it had nothing to do with him.

"Are you not angry?" He asked carefully.

Xiu Lin looked at him. "What for? Doing troublesome things such as making a fuss is energy consuming." He replied.

"But that was your hardwork." Fei Yang emphasized. "I can help you take it back."

"He can have the credentials. I can have the payment." Xiu Lin shrugged. "But I know it'll take a lot of trouble so whoever took it can have it. It's not like I can't make another antidote."

Fei Yan felt bad. Astixians are the type of people who didn't bother raising conflict but they were just straight forward that they could hurt feelings. Aside from that, that's all.

People from planet Astix are harmless, lazy and hated bothersome things. They even killed themselves because other race formed an alliance just to take them down.

"Professor Xiu, may I ask your opinion?" Fei Yang said.

Xiu Lin hummed.

"As an Astixian, why do you think the Astix people killed themselves before a war could even start?" Fei yang asked.

Xiu Lin leaned on the chair and looked at the young general. "People started the war with a reason. Astix are race who knew a lot of things. Especially the probability. If I were part of the people who will be facing said alliance of course, I know that I will win." Xiu Lin explained. His hinted arrogance and confidence were unmasked as he shamelessly bragged his intelligence in front of Fei Yang. "However, those who lost to me and survived. Will they stop halfway? So why not remove the main root? Their envy. And since envy could never be erased, then why not remove the target of said envy? Us the people of Astix ourselves. To end a troublesome war, you need to end the reason of interest."

"Just like that? You wouldn't even try?"

"What's the point of trying? The only reason why Astixians are being persecuted are because they have what others can never have. Analyzing our own perfection as other's flaws will always be a remnant of jealousy and animosity no matter how the war against Astix and alliance will become." He sighed and took a sip of water from a glass. "Suicide is a pain, but it's the swiftest solution than destroying an entire army that will just change personel and will continue on for god knows when." he shrugged.

Fei Yang was a bit uncomfortable with this talk. But he kept his ears peeled to listen to him.

"Also, I heard that my ancestors did a great job!" Xiu Lin added.

"Great job?" killing themselves are great job?

"Planet Astix was once known for its rich resources. It has rich source of aluminum and titanium which is important in making space crafts. When they killed themselves, they activated the chemical that will both kill the land and the minerals. It became a ghost planet with no resources found. The lively planet became a contaminated wasteland after the self destruction. I say it's petty and good move. To make the very own planet unlivable to anyone who thinks they've got the upper hand."
