Disappointing Exam

"Come, you are to follow me to the next examination location." The female outer disciple said while standing to her feet and approaching a 1-meter wide door. Pushing it open, she left the room with all the other contestants following behind.

It had been a few hours since Saber had teleported inside of this room, using that time, he was able to fill his whole mind domain with the golden energy and also spoke with his counterpart. If not for his other half calming him, he might have long killed the outer sect disciple.

Following behind the group of contestants and exiting the room, Saber entered a hallway with a 2-meter width and white walls on either side. There were surprisingly lightbulbs throughout the hallway, but unlike the other kids, Saber wasn't interested in such things.

After walking for a few minutes, Saber appeared in front of an already opened door. Walking through, what greeted his view was a massive battle arena 20-meters in size. The platform had a height from ground level up to Saber's chest and standing on top of it was a tall elderly-looking man with the female outer disciple next to him.

The elderly man swept his gaze toward the contestants who surrounded this arena as he spoke out with a deep voice.

"I am one of the elders in the Outer Section of the Sword Art Sect. The circumstances are like this... every one of you will fight against a random opponent, and those who win will go to the next round until there are only three remaining. Of course, those who lose will have no other choice but to try again next year."

He coldly stated with a pair of bored-looking eyes. His wrinkled skin shriveled up even more after seeing Saber not paying any attention. But, he did not care since he had seen a lot of arrogant young masters.

The examination began when two random males were called onto the stage. Their fight wasn't anything special, and Saber realized that the people here seemed to have not done any sought of body cultivation.

'It seems that they mainly focused on Sage cultivation for the whole of their life.' Saber thought with contempt flashing in his eyes. Such weak people, yet that outer disciple had dared to place him with such a group of humans.

If he had previously found that weak people were annoying, now he truly began feeling dislike toward them. As he was standing outside the battle arena with closed eyes, he heard his name being called by the outer elder.

Tap!

With a light jump, he landed on the floor of the arena. In front of him was a female with average height and a bland appearance. She was the representation of an average-looking female. Saber looked at the weapon in her hand and couldn't help but ask.

"This is a trial to enter the Sword Art Sect, so why are you using a weapon such as a whip." He asked in confusion causing everyone to try and stifle their laughter at his ignorance.

"Oh my, it seems that we have a country bumpkin. Simply because the word sword is in the sect's name doesn't mean everyone uses such a weapon. It only means that the main weapon choice of cultivators in the sect is a sword." Saber's opponent replied while rushing toward Saber and sending an attack toward him.

Bam!!

But, before she could reach anywhere near him, Saber appeared behind her and knocked her outside of the platform with a weak punch. This weak punch of his managed to destroy her ribs and caused her to cough up a mouthful of blood while simultaneously knocking her unconscious.

The crowd instantly went silent while the old elder's eyes lit up with interest. The outer disciple who stood next to the elder gnashed her teeth in anger after seeing the elder's reaction. Her eyes flashed with dangerous light when watching Saber.

A mysterious figure in a white robe and a face mask appeared next to Saber's unconscious opponent and disappeared with her. This happened with every loser as the tournament continued. Saber easily won against his opponents with merely his physical strength since they all weren't powerful.

Bam!

Bam!

With two quick punches to his opponent's chest, a brown-haired boy who seemed to be in his late teens won third place, soon after, Saber and surprisingly Adrianna appeared on the platform. Saber had a bored expression since he had knocked out every one of his opponents in one strike.

"I give up!" Adrianna said, surprising not only Saber but even the elder. Adrianna was dominating and easily wrecked her opponents, so Saber was slightly interested in this fight. Even the third-place stood no chance against her. But, now he would be unable to fight her...well not yet anyway.

"Well, that was a surprising end, but I suppose it does make sense to not want to fight him." The elder said to Adrianna while walking up the stairs to the platform with the female outer disciple next to him.

His face contorted into a frown when the only reply he received was two pairs of cold and indifferent eyes. Both Saber and Adrianna were uninterested in a talk with the old man, hence the reason why he was completely ignored.

He could only smile bitterly at the two aloof cultivators and scratch the back of his neck with slight embarrassment. The white-colored ring on his right hand's index finger then glowed as a few weird stones appeared in the elder's hand.

Saber was immediately able to recognize the Sage energy that the stones radiated and couldn't help but show slight interest. The stones were then controlled by mysterious energy and were placed in a few dents that were seemingly randomly present throughout the platform.

Suddenly, a bright light lit the whole room, soon after, the figures of Saber, Arianna, and the three others disappeared from the room.

Saber had already adapted to the teleportation and was easily able to stay focused. All he was able to see was his body entering a white space, and then he was standing in front of the gates of the Sword Arts Sect.

The sect was located in a valley between two mountains. There was a mysterious mist that pervaded the air, and two huge stone statues flanked the gate. They looked like statues of two 10-meter-long swords.

In front of the sword statues, two pairs of disciples were guarding the entrance of the Sword Art Sect, and Saber realized that they were all relatively strong since he could sense a little aura that was comparable to Cell Evolving.

Though they couldn't compare to himself, he guessed that a Cell Evolving was a decently strong level since the Sect placed them to guard the front gate. Seeing Saber and the rest mysteriously teleports in front of them, they immediately bowed toward the elder.

"We greet the elder!" They said in unison while the elder then took three tokens from his ring and handed it to each of them.

"Noelle here will explain the rules and all other necessities when one enters our sect. But, don't forget this, you only have one month of free food and housing before you'll have no choice but to take up missions." The elder said before he flew away while standing on a sword that mysteriously appeared.
