Noelle Challenged

Tsk!

In a room filled with golden gas, and sitting on top of a mat, Noelle who was in the middle of her cultivation couldn't help but click her tongue in annoyance when her blue token representing she was an Outer Sect disciple lit up. It wasn't as if she did not know what this meant since she wasn't an oblivious disciple. She instantly knew that someone had challenged her.

But, that wasn't even the worse or most absurd part! The worst part was that she was unable to refuse the challenge, which meant that some cultivator weaker than her had dared to challenge her to a deathmatch.

There are cases where cultivators in a weaker realm have come out victorious against those in a higher rank, but those cases are incredibly rare since those who could fight a realm or two higher than their own, have all entered the Inner Sect.

The Inner Sect is filled with unknown monsters. The chances that the person who challenged her is an unknown monster is comparable to the chance that the first two humans created were men. Which is absolutely zero, otherwise there would not be any descendants in the first place.

Knowing that someone had dared to challenge her even when in a lower realm made her feel incredibly angry. Not only would she need to stop her cultivation and go toward the Elder Hall just to fight a weakling, but she'll also be leaving the Spirit Tower, and the worst part was, the time taken would still be counted as if she had spent all that time in the Spirit room.

But, she did not stay with such negative feelings much longer, at least she'll be able to get free Spirit Stones and would be able to stay inside of this Spirit Tower for a little longer. So, without further wait, she exited the Spirit room and also the tower, as she approached the Elder Hall or more accurately, the fifth floor of the elder hall.

Saber, who had a gem in the shape of a sword on his forehead and was sitting in a meditative position on top of an arena-like platform couldn't help but nod his head in amazement. He wasn't sure how they were able to do it, but even though this room on the outside only seemed to be 15 or so meters large, the inside of the room spanned for more than 100-meters, allowing for multiple arena-like platforms to be present.

And, surrounding these platforms was a bunch of seats where multiple disciples sat. These disciples needed to pay a few Spirit Stones to come to see some of the deathmatches which were presently going on but, it seemed as if they enjoyed the show.

Looking around, Saber realized that there were even a few eyes on who was on him. He knew that they were interested in his deathmatch since he seemed to be a new face. Plus, the token placed on his chest made it obvious that this was his first deathmatch since it had the number 0 written on it.

While sitting peacefully, Saber suddenly felt a cold gaze aiming in his direction. Thereafter, from in front of him and at the edge of a platform, a female slowly made her way up the few steps. Saber couldn't help but let out a smile once sensing Noelle's arrival, but the people in the stands began whispering once they saw this.

"Hey, isn't that woman a Golden Core cultivator?" A female with a bob cut asked the man next to her with surprise evident in her tone.

"Yes, that woman is...I think her name is Noelle. I had previously finished a mission with her, and I think she has already entered the Mid-Level of Golden Core!!" The man replied, soon after, another male said.

"Well, isn't that kid courting death? To dare challenge someone higher than him by two whole realms!"

Hearing such whispers, Saber could only coldly snicker in his mind as he gazed with cold and indifferent eyes toward the being who had dared to try and assassinate him. Noelle on the other hand couldn't believe what she saw after the sight of Saber gazing toward her appeared in her view.

The same kid that she had sent a few people from the external section to assassinate, had come inside of the Outer Sect in a mere day after going for a mission and also dared to challenge her to a death duel.

"It seems that luck is shining down on me." She said while taking out a sword from her space ring. Her eyes gained a ferocious glow of savagery when seeing the cold and indifferent sight of Saber, as she patiently waited for him to also get ready.

Saber, on the other hand, was completely at loss for words when seeing Noelle and her killing intent. But, he did not care for her reasons why she hated talented people such as himself and also got ready.

Ding!

A sound reverberated in their ears as they both dashed toward each other's position. Noelle stabbed at Saber's heart with immense precision while expecting the match to end with merely that attack alone.

Unexpectedly, just as the sword was about to contact with Saber's chest, he evaded with little movement and then sent a casual palm strike toward her left shoulder.

Boom!

The attack that casually landed on her shoulder caused an explosion of sound to occur which startled the slightly weaker cultivators in the surrounding arena platforms and also gained the multiple spectators' attention.

A few meters away from Saber, Noelle was lying on the ground in pain. But, she weakly got up with shock written all over her face as she watched with beaming anger, into the cold and aloof eyes of Saber.

She did not bother talking with him or asking him how he did what he just did as she assumed it was probably some technique that he was lucky to find which can increase his physical strength temporarily.

Instead, she channeled her Sage energy into her sword, which was only something cultivators in the Golden Core or higher realm could do. Seeing her build up an attack, Saber did nothing in return and simply starred on with interest.

He knew that those in the Spirit Pillar realm could coat their bodies with Sage energy which will protect them from any sort of attack, while those in the Golden Core realm could infuse inanimate objects with their Sage energy which would strengthen them.

But, he paid no mind to whatever Noelle wanted to do since he knew that she held no chance of winning against him. Instead, he'll use her as an example to deter anyone from ever challenging him.

He knew that the news of a Spirit Foundation beating a Golden Core would shake the whole of the Outer and even the Inner Sect, but that might also cause stupid people who may want to prove themselves to interrupt him in his cultivation.

Swoosh!

Seeing the attack heading toward his face in slow motion, Saber smirked wickedly as his bloodlust increased and he evaded the attack with minimal effort. Right after, he sent a punch with his right arm toward Noelle's ribcage.

Crack!

The sound of bones cracking was then heard in the battle arena as Noelle was sent flying a few meters back. Without giving her any time to process what just happened, Saber appeared next to her body and stomped his foot onto her left hand with only a little of his immense bodily strength.

Bam!

Crack!

Another cracking sound was heard as Saber then began to mercilessly stomp all over her body.
