1,000 Years (1)

Standing in front of Oblivion who had just exited some crumbling doors were three figures. Of the three, Oblivion recognized only one.

"Cecelia...?" Oblivion couldn't help but feel some complicated emotions staring at this woman who was an illusion but real at the same time.

One can say that she, along with all other entities were truly real beings but, the moment they enter the Ancient Universe, this was the moment they fade away.

They weren't actual beings after all. Only inside of Pure-Heart's origin were they real people who could not be considered illusionary entities.

"Oh! You two know of each other."

Oblivion's attention was garnered not by Cecelia, but by the figure who stood in front of her.

Both Cecelia and the brown-haired young man she spoke with before, were respectfully standing behind this mysterious figure.

The man had long red hair and a pair of reptilian pupils in a yellowish color. His sclera was dark, almost palpating with dark energy.

He had two horns on either side of his head, mostly black but yellow higher up. His ears were long and pointy, almost like an elf and he had a confident smirk that boarded in the realm of arrogance.

He was adorned in yellowish gold and black armor with a pair of blades strapped around his back. Staring at Oblivion, he looked at him, his lips curling upwards.

Thud!

Suddenly, outside the expectations of both Cecelia and the brown-haired young man, this arrogant-looking mysterious person dropped a knee.

Cupping his fist and facing Oblivion, he seemed to be a subordinate now greeting its master for the first time in a while.

"This little one greets the creator!"

Thrum!

His words confused the two behind him as he glanced at them coldly, signaling for them to kneel. Cecelia felt a powerful pressure descend onto her body, forcing her to kneel as well as the young man next to her.

Seeing this, Oblivion released a calm smirk and chimed. "There isn't any need to do all this... I understand already what you truly want. But, tell me, how do you know?"

"Yes, creator! It is like this..." Thereafter, Cecelia and the young man next to her listened to this man's words with wrapped attention.

It was hard to imagine that the legendary figure in their minds was soo respectful even kneeling, to some brat. So they hoped this would clarify their doubts.

"My name is Orion Cosmos and after countless eons long ago, I ascended as a normal human to the higher world.

Reaching the higher world, I thought that, just like when I was in the lower realm, it'll be an arduous journey, but I'd eventually reach the pinnacle." Shaking his head in self-mockery, Noah continued.

"Soon, I realized how it truly was. No matter, Humans, Demons, Angels, Androids, or prideful Dragons, it didn't matter who they were, they were merely foot soldiers for the war between the Void clan and the Deity clan."

Thrum!

Oblivion nodded his head. The war was between the Void and Deity clans. Any other races were merely pawns to these two giants.

"The Deity clan assumed the righteous disposition. Many joined their rankings and even I joined them. Why? Those Void clan people didn't hide it. Their ultimate goal was to wipe all life out in not just the higher world, but in the lower worlds too!"

Sigh!

Cecelia glanced toward him. By now, they were standing once again since Oblivion didn't wish for Noah to convey his story whilst kneeling. Anyway, Cecelia was secretly surprised... It seems that this was Oblivion's origin.

But, this didn't answer their question, no, it confused them even more. From Orion's words, it seems like he was an enemy of Oblivion's people... So why was he soo respectful now?

At the same time, Oblivion shook his head. He was just like the people of the Void clan, wishing to return everything before the birth of life.

The Deity clan represented the Ancient Universe, and its many mysteries, whereas, the Void clan represented the mysterious grey space and its simple way of restarting the Ancient Universe by the extinction of all lifeforms.

"We, the lower lifeforms who were lucky to ascend were slaves. We lived in the warring zones, listening to the orders of the generals who were similarly ascended people but with enough merits, became half Deities.

"This was our goal as Ascended beings. Survive, adapt, and evolve. Create techniques stronger, stronger techniques, and cultivate, grow and grow, until we become generals.

"This was my determination. I continued to survive and grow. My comrades all eventually died out. My hate continued to accumulate, not just for the Void people, but also for the Deity people.

"But, upon entering the ranks of generals, becoming a half Deity, I had gained enough merits to enter the so-called Eternal Tower." Reaching here, Orion glanced at Oblivion whose eyes lit up when the Eternal Tower was mentioned.

"Entering this place was the best and worst choice I had ever made. Unlike others, my ability to survive and grow once more came in handy. I survive in that tower, and I grew to the point where even to the Deity and Void clan, I was a powerhouse.

"Obviously, I was in the Eternal Tower, a place that neither Deity nor Void clan people owned or could watch over, so neither knew that an Ascended being had become soo powerful.

"From there, I stumbled upon a special technique. Cultivating it was hard. It incorporated multiple different concepts and elements involving space, time, life, death, and more...

"Mastering it was when I truly became a threat to the Void and Deity clan. But, simultaneously upon mastering it, I was chosen by the Eternal Tower.

"Who knew that the Eternal Tower was merely a trial ground to see who could master such a technique the fastest? Once mastering it, my horizons were broadened by the Eternal Tower and my mind was opened.

"Who'd have thought that my world, my family, my friends, my enemies, they were all truly not real beings?

"I was tasked by the Eternal Tower with a mission that when successful would boost the chances of you re-awakening your memories and not mistakenly ending up like the people of your race, killing your other selves just to gain measly power.

"Splitting my soul, a mere fragment descended. But, this fragment was too powerful and was almost destroyed by the willpower of the Higher World...

"Thankfully, a fragmented version made it to the lower realm, into one of the many universes. This fragment formed a body with the strength of a True Immortal and created what is now known as the Heavenly Mystic Domain.

"This Domain is connected to the Eternal Tower... In fact, there are many different places connected to the Eternal Tower. The place you awakened your memories was merely one of them."

Sighing, he finally finished his story, glancing at Oblivion with a hint of pride in his eyes as he had completed the mission.

"And what was in it for you?" Oblivion asked. Clearly, the Eternal Tower had something to do with him but what did it have to do with Orion?

Why would Orion so willingly separate his soul to descend to the lower realm, weakening his true body greatly?

Who knows, his true body could have already fallen. Due to that, this body would constantly need to enter a state of slumber to heal the wounds to the soul.

"Once your two halves merge, becoming a True Void-Deity and also Pure-Heart, this whole origin of yours will re-enter your true body. When that happens, this realm, all living beings would become non-existent..."

Thrum!
