Chapter 34: Terror

Even though Max hadn’t made it for dinner, he thought he could still catch Mikki awake. He left the palace and got on the road immediately, feeling the breeze on his hair and face as he drove back to Aveline City. He took a shortcut so he didn’t have to pass by the core of the city, just in case anyone saw him and wanted to talk about something.

Not that he was escaping his obligations as the Alpha, far from that. He knew that if anything urgent happened, Vadik or any of the members would know how to contact him, and he would rush to their encounter.

But tonight, Max just wanted to go home to Mikki. And also, he didn’t know why, but something deep down in his guts was telling him that something was wrong. He couldn’t quite put his finger on what it could be. He believed that bad news traveled fast, but even so, he couldn’t stay still.
