Chapter 47: Calli

They followed the fairy around for a few miles. At some point, they walked past what Mikki thought to be an invisible barrier, and suddenly everything changed.

The forest they were at before was now completely different. Mikki couldn’t explain, but from Fitz gasping by her side, she knew she wasn’t imagining things.

The place was now filled with color, animals, flying shining creatures just like the fairy that was guiding them. It felt like she was staring at a fantasy world, the ones she saw a few times in movies.

It was breathtaking.

“Wow,” she murmured. “This place is… incredibly beautiful. How come we never heard of it?” she asked no one in particular.

But the fairy seemed willing to answer her curious questions.

“Not everyone can come to the Enchanted Forest. It’s a part of our world that only the chosen ones can see.”

Mikki glanced at Fitz, who shrugged, and went back to the fairy.

“Chosen ones?” she asked.
