“Dr. Bishop, it's good to see you again.” Everett’s lips curled as he gloated.
Vivian boiled with anger, barely able to take his outstretched hand. He wrapped his fingers around her palm, the tips reaching her wrist and slightly grazing back and forth. Vivian quickly pulled her hand away, the feeling sending an electric shock up her entire arm.
“You know each other?” MacKenzie stood between them, humming with excitement as she realized that this was Vivian’s mystery man she mentioned at lunch. “Oh, I see, okay so, yeah.”
MacKenzie just walked away, turning around behind Everett’s back to give Vivian a desperately needy glance. Vivian pretended as if she didn’t see it, knowing that all of this swooning over Everett was not because he was tall, dark, and handsome but because he was a vampire.
“Why are you here?” Vivian seethed, her eyes darting around the room.
“Don’t worry, most people here are drunk. All human.”
“How can you be so sure?”
