Vivian struggled to understand her surroundings. Her eyes flickered, snapshots of her surroundings flooding her brain with confusion. Pain coursed through her entire body as she tried to move, but it was too difficult, her body refusing to follow her command. Vivian could hear her groans, but they seemed so far away she had a hard time believing that they belonged to her. Her eyes blinked again, this time she saw a familiar face in the distance. Walking towards her, with each blink he magically got closer and closer until he was the only thing she could see when she fully opened her eyes.
“Vivian, you are okay,” Everett whispered, a cold, damp cloth touching her hot face. She flinched, moaned at the pain it caused. “It’s okay.”
