Chapter 50: A New Beginning

There was a moment, Vivian's mind struggled to catch up to the reality of what was happening, in which Vivian didn't understand what was happening. All around her she heard their cries, the pain rippling through them as they died. Ava had killed them all. She'd witness in back at the hotel, but this was so much more than that. There were thousands of vampires in this room. Back at the hotel, Ava had told her power could be stored up, saved for a rainy day, but Ava had used most of her power, been fed upon by a vampire, yet here she stood before them more powerful than ever.

“Ava!” Vivian flung her arms around Ava’s neck. “I thought he killed you."

“No, I’m here,” Ava assured her, squeezing her shoulders.

"But how? How did you?" Vivian gaped at Ava, who, while covered in blood, didn't appear to have a scratch on her body.

“Ava, I owe you everything for this,” Everett confessed, looking down at Vivian.
