Suddenly, the feel of the cold blade, the pain of it slicing into her neck was gone. Gasping for air, she realized that she was alive. Towering above her, holding Caleb by his neck was Everett. She had seen a flash of his face, but his real face was there, right in front of her, saving her life again.
Vivian reached for the blade that Caleb had dropped, kicking off the wall, sliding underneath Caleb, Vivian held her blade tightly as she felt it cut through his skin. Caleb screamed in pain, as Everett threw him down hard. Vivian watched as Everett placed his boot onto Caleb’s neck, the same way he’d done to Vivian, leaning down he seethed, “You’ll ever touch her again.”
