Grandeur was not the word to describe this place. Nor could it be described with words such as luxurious or extravagant, this house was way past all of that. Vivian felt transported back in time stepping into the Chateau as if they changed nothing from the early 15th century France when this place was most likely built.
“What is this place?” Vivian whispered to Everett.
“Château De Chambord, built in the 15th Century by Francis the First. King in 1519. See those staircases?” Everett pointed to the massive double helix white stone staircase that seemed to weave into itself through the center of the foyer. “Leonardo Da Vinci built those modeled after the DNA structure.”
“Oh, c’mon,” Vivian gaped disbelievingly.
“He was a close friend.”
“No way.” But she could see on Everett’s face that he wasn’t lying.
“Everything has been meticulously preserved.”
“So tell me this then, if the King of France built this, how did you come upon it?”
