There was no shortage of questions when Ava opened the hotel door to reveal Vera standing on the other side. Of course, Vera didn’t intend to really answer any of those questions, as she announced that Ava’s life was in danger in more ways than one. Vera didn’t waste any time telling Ava about what has been happening she since disappeared after the council meeting.
“Working with that vampire, Chanh, proved to be no help at all,” Vera scoffed, her distaste for working with vampires not quelled at all. “Turns out he was working with a hunter as well.”
“Vera, you know Everett is a vampire and Vivian a hunter.”
“I do,” Vera assured, glancing at Everett standing in the corner of the room, “but it doesn’t mean I have to like it. But you were right to leave us,” Vera affirmed. “The coven was never going to allow you to do what it is you need to do now.”
“Vera, I know you are the one that gave me that note. You said that the ones in the prophecy were the only ones I could trust.”
