Chapter 40: Mending Fences

“Two more strawberry margaritas, please.”

The waitress nodded, heading to the back to put in our orders.

I stirred around my frozen margarita with my straw, watching it slowly melt. “But I haven’t even finished this one yet.”

“Oh, boo hoo,” Heather said from across the table. Her margarita glass was empty, so now she was working on the complimentary chips and salsa. “It’s been a day, you deserve it. Plus, I know alcohol gets you to talk more, and I need to hear more about what happened with Finn today.”

I sighed. “I already told you, he came in with Lila, it was super awkward as they ordered, I snapped at Finn, then they sat down. Lila came up to me and apologized, but I let her know that we’re good.”

Heather raised an eyebrow. “And are you? Good with Finn and Lila?”
