Chapter 43: Movie Night

I couldn’t push away the giddy feeling I got when I walked over to Caleb’s apartment building. My face grew hot as I moved past the pool, which was getting locked up by a maintenance guy. I wondered if he was the same guy who almost caught Caleb and I the last time I was there.

My stomach twisted in excited knots, and I felt the way that the movies and books I’d read had always described having a crush. I’d never been able to imagine how someone could like somebody so much that they never wanted to be away from them, or how they felt like a part of them was missing anytime they were separated. It didn’t seem possible to have those strong feelings for one person, especially in such a short amount of time.
