What did he meant by the kind of work he does? Blood, screams, guns, the extreme luxury, was he a drug dealer or something? The screams had finally pushed her to reality. Whatever Alexander did for a living wasn't normal, he wasn't a normal person. How could she not have seen it from the start? What could have possible got her that blind, that stupid? Was it his looks that blinded her? Was it fear that clogged her mind? What was it exactly?
“He will be the boss of the Black mafia clan, as long as he follows my instructions carefully,” David Miguel said corner eyeing the door.
Siana's stomach moved up and down abnormally and her breathing could be heard from a mile away. This was the first time throughout her life span of twenty-six years she had felt something like this. She had no name to call what she felt nor did she know how to describe it, all she knew was that she was out of breath, that she felt the extreme level of fear, that if she didn't calm down and breath it would end very badly but how could she when everything around her was spinning, when the heavy sounds of her battling for air echoed in her head, how could she when all that was on her mind was run or stay and die? How could she when she was traumatized with fear?
"No, no, no, none of this is real. Calm down Siana, calm down Siana, there’s no way you could have been sold to a mafia boss." the rounds of words played in her mind like an old record stuck on repeat. "Just breathe." She felt on the edge, she had enough. She had precisely one minute to calm down or she would blackout at the rate her heart was beating, it wasn't normal. She had never felt that way before, the feeling was something new.
"Siana!" Kathy shouted dashing over to her. The state she was in it was clear that she wasn't okay, she was in shock. "Siana breathe," Kathy whispered latching onto her shoulder. She looked into Siana's face and took deep breaths followed by hard exhales. "Follow after me, come on," she continued.
Who knew the truth could have hit that hard but that's not all of it there was many more toxic shocks like this one to come, who knows maybe worst. She gazed on Kathy and slowly followed her moves. Soon she could finally catch her breath. Soon she was okay, okay enough to see her surroundings clearly once more.
“Miss Jones are you okay?” David Miguel asked. Siana had just calmed down all she needed was to leave that place. She was never welcomed there in the first place because he had never accepted her neither did she wanted him to.
“I’m sorry Mr. Miguel but I think I should go,” she said frustrated. She made a slow steady step then came to a sharp stop. “Mr. Miguel is there any chance that you could do me a small favor?” she asked facing the door to the beautiful garden outside.
“What?” David asked.
She had the perfect favor to ask, the perfect way out. If she could bargain with the person behind it all then she would be okay.
“Can you terminate the contract between me and Alexander?” she asked scared to keep eye contact.
“I would have to get back to you on that Miss Jones,” he responded.
Siana hurried out the front door with each step that she took raking up gravels. She had to get the hell out of that place. She couldn’t stay in an unknown destination, with strange men she didn’t know, in an unknown house, with unknown screams and overall a murderer.
Kathy followed behind her with fast steps heading to the car with her boot heels digging deep into the gravels as every plant that she pasted by gripped her thin jacket edge trying to pull her back. Siana slammed the door and sat on the driver’s seat ready to leave out of Alexander’s butcher house.
“Kathy hurry the fuck up!” she shouted. Now Siana wasn’t a bad friend she was just in constant fear and worry that’s the reason why she had avoided majority of things throughout life. For example, she avoided relationships, large out goings, certain companies and stuff. She was the perfect friend anyone could ask for but there was just one thing standing between her officially getting that tittle, ‘Fear.’
Kathy entered and Siana gazed up on the luxurious building once more to find Alexander standing at the door with his legs crossed leaning against the wall with an evil smile. He had drifted so far since she last saw him, now he was just running her away, now he was just showing her the real him. Why keep her around to suffer, to see the unholy truth behind his cold hearted personality?
That smile could cool hot lava, Peirce the soul of the innocent sending fear throughout the universe. Was he always like that?
She put the car in reverse and quickly drove away as far as possible from Alexander. She parked the car at the side of the road a block away from her apartment and got out. “I have to burn it, I have to disappear!” she shouted grabbing her hair and fondling it. “Why is he doing this?!” she shouted.
Now it was all clear Siana Jones was to be placed in a psych ward before it was too late. Alexander had pulled her over the edge of insanity.
“How could I be engaged to a mafia boss, how could there be something like this?” she asked walking up and down to the car as Kathy watched feeling scared.
If she could disappear then would he be able to find her? Thoughts like that flooded her mind. There was too much going on in her mind at this point she would have an overload. Siana grabbed her bag and ran her way to her apartment and quickly entered locking the door. “Kathy hurry order a plane ticket, I don’t care where it is as long as it’s some where he wouldn’t show up!” she shouted gripping her hair at the edge of ripping it out.
“Fucking hurry!” she shouted in anger going up to Kathy as if she wanted to rip her head off her perfect little body.
Kathy stood there in fear. “What’s wrong with her, I’m scared. What is she talking about, didn’t she hear what that old man said?” she asked herself. Kathy didn’t know what to do. If what David said was true then there was no point running, Siana knew that but it felt easier ignoring the truth like a man that clams he had been sober for a year yet his cupboard is filled with liquor and under his bed is packed with cases of beer but through it all he still claims he’s been sober and none of it belonged to him.
Like drugs, alcohol and love she was addicted to telling herself lies, small harmless lies to the ones that swallows up the reality she shared with the persons she loved.
The beeping of Siana’s phone fought its way through Kathy’s sniffles and Siana’s shouts conquering her hearing. She grabbed the phone and answered with a heavy and angry ‘what.’
“As you wish Miss Jones, it would have been amazing having you joining our family.” Mr. Miguel’s voice whispered and ended calmly at the word family.
The phone made a free fall landing onto the ground next to her feet cringed up into a cozy pair of socks. Kathy had heard it all. She rushed over to Siana and wrapped her arms around her and whispered I’m sorrys rocking from side to
