RUNNING UNDER THE RAIN DROPS

Previously,

It was dark so nothing was clear but in that limited glimmer of the street lamp, they noticed she was a teenage girl. Suddenly, a passing car's headlight landed on her and June noticed the logo on her huddie. She predicted something is not right with this girl. She can't be an ordinary little girl who's taking the bus.

Continue,

A strong gust is blowing. After a while, enormous rain started. Looks like the bus won't be available today. The road is almost empty, some private cars and vehicles are crossing now and then. But there is no other way except to wait for the three of them sitting in the passenger tent. In this blustery wind, they all got wet just by sitting there. "Hey, your wound is getting wet," said June. She takes his hand and starts unwrapping the napkin which was wearing on that wound. "It will get infected," she said. June was going to throw that napkin but Ryan grabbed her hand. "How about I throw you instead," he said. He took that napkin from her vigorously and put that in his pocket. " What's with that attitude?" she said raising one eyebrow. "Whatever, wear my napkin for now. But don't get it wet."

After that he took his phone out and saw, there was no signal. "This is no good," said Ryan. "I thought I would call mom to send us a car. But there is no signal. What should we do now?"

June turned her head to that girl. She saw she was not panicked instead she kept her head down and consistently looked at the ground. "I wonder what is she doing here at this hour all by herself," said Ryan. "What if we don't get the bus. What will she gonna do? Should I go try to talk to her?"

June shrugged. Ryan went to her and bend down. "Hey beauty, what's your name?" he asked. "Why should I tell you?" that girl replied suspiciously. "Hey, why so rude? I was just asking," said Ryan. "Where are your parents?"

"Do you think my parents don't have any job that they would run after me all the time?" she said.

"Are you all by yourself at this hour?" asked Ryan.

"No, with your dog," she said frustratedly.

"You are such an arrogant kid," said Ryan annoyingly. "Thank you," she replied and turned her head. He went back to June. "What happened?" said June. "Why are you so annoyed?"

"She is such a savage kid, dude," Ryan said excruciatingly. "I tried to talk to her politely but she kept replying to me harshly. I can't with this kid. It's getting late and looks like the rain is not thinking to stop yet. I don't think the buses will be available. You sit here. I see some distance ahead if the signal is found."

"Ok," said June. June sat down on the bench and Ryan was trying to catch a signal at a distance. She felt someone was watching them. She kept looking around and at that time she noticed, that girl was rubbing her fingers which means she was nervous. Maybe she was also getting this feeling. It was dark all around and because of the strong wind and the loud sound of rainfall it was difficult to figure out where this gut feeling was coming from. "Ah..mom, can you hear me?" said Ryan on his phone. "Yes, the exhibition ended a long time ago but we are stuck at the bus stop. I think there are no buses available today. Can you please manage us a car? I don't want to ask dad, he would give me a long lecture on that....yes we are at..." "....ok, thanks, mom."

He sits beside June with a sigh. "She said the car will be here in 30 minutes," said Ryan. June stands up and walks to that girl. "Um... it's getting late and it's not a safe place to wait long for the bus," said June standing in front of her. "We have called for a car. Would you like to take a lift?"

"Where will you go?" she replied.

"Don't worry," said June. "We will drop you wherever you say."

"Why do you want to help me?" she said. June smiled at her and bent down. "Because it's late and it's not safe here," she said. "So I want to help you. Your mom will be worried for you, right?"

She kept silent. June couldn't see her face clearly but on that glimpse of light, she imagined her face as one of the cutest things on this planet. June sits beside her. June felt someone was hiding in the bushes behind them. She tried to look closely and confirmed that there was someone. Her heart suddenly collapsed with fear. All short of thinking was playing on her mind. She felt uneasy. "L-Lets move there," said June. "We are getting all wet here, ok?"

She nods nervously. They stand up and June holds her hand and as soon as they were moving to the other side, suddenly a man with a hockey stick appears from the bushes along with him a lot of men surrounded them with hockey sticks. The little girl screams and hugs June while both of them are terrified. "(What's happening? Who are they? Why are they attacking us? What should we do now?)" Lots of thoughts like those were coming into their head indiscriminately. June slowly came to Ryan while holding her. "Give her to us," one of them said. "We promise, we won't hurt you."

"Wtf, isn't it too much to come so many of them with weapons only to catch a little girl?" Ryan whispered June.

"Let's run...after I count..." She saw Ryan and that girl already started to run before she finish. "You mo*n..," she runs behind them and those people chase after them. "Who are they?" Ryan screams while running.

"Your in-laws," the girl said.

"Hey!!! Because of you, our life is on strike," he said. "Show some respect."

"Of course," she replied.

"At this rate, I will show you in our catacombs. Can't you just focus on running?"

The road is slippery. After running some distance the little girl falls on her face. June pulled her by her hands to help her standing and they started running again.

*huff..huff..huff* Three of them are breathing heavily. "We can't stay here for long," said Ryan. "Look there."

They are standing behind a wirehouse. This abandoned wirehouse has become the shelter for local thugs who are gambling around. If they sense their existence it will be the end for them. It's dark, nothing is clear, they don't know where exactly they are, and all of them are soaked in the rain. They just knew they didn't run off a long distance. The car that their mother has to send must come by this time. Anyhow they have to move from here and catch the car. Those people who were chasing them asked those thugs about them. Somehow they managed to escape from that place silently and resurfaced on the main road and started running. "Young master," a familiar voice came from behind. They saw their driver was calling them. Their car was returning as they could not be found. Seeing them running on the road, the car stopped. They felt relieved and got in the car. "Hurry up, drive as fast as you can," said Ryan. The driver drove as flying the car. That girl suddenly plopped on June's shoulder. She looked at her and was dismayed. "Hey, hey..wake up..are you ok??" she said while taping her face and shaking her body. She felt her body was burning with fever. "Uncle, please take us to the hospital immediately," she said.

"Don't worry, she is fine," said the doctor. "The way she got wet, she didn't get pneumonia in the rain, that's a lot. Please dry yourself and take these medicines. If not, you too can get sick tonight."

"Thank you, doctor," said June. She sits beside Ryan who is almost about to lie on the chair. *Phew* they sigh together. "What a normal night, gosh," he said. "Thank god, we are alive."

"Did you treat your hand?" she asked.

"Mmm," he nodded.

"Hey, look," she points to someone by her spectacle. "Isn't she Eva, Noah's friend?"

He sits straight forthwith and saw it was surely her. "Yes," he said. "What is she doing here at this hour?"

Eva was talking with a doctor. They went to her. "We met again," said Ryan grinning. She jolts and turns back. "R-Ryan..?" she said. "Why are you here?" She looked at his hand bandage and said, "Oh...was it that serious?"

"Please stop embarrassing me," he said. "It's a long story. But why are you here?"

"Umm...well.." she flinched.

June peeked at the cabin. She saw Noah lying on the bed and his arm was bandaged. "Is it Noah?" said June. "What happened to him?"

At that moment Owen came out of that cabin and was going to say something to Eva but stopped, seeing them. "Why are they here again?" he said. Noah noticed them as they were standing right in front of his cabin and screamed from there angrily. "You again???" said Noah. "You seriously don't have shame or nothing to do, do you? How can you chase someone like this even at this hour? You make me question, what kind of students do our university has?"

"That's enough ok?" said June. She also got furious. "We are not after you. Stop deluding."

"Right, I am the one who's deluding," said Noah. "As if I have fallen for you and daydreaming you everywhere I go..."

"I hope god stops examining people around you by you..," she said. "If headache had a face it would look like you."

"Can't you be more reasonable?" he said while being more furious and burning with anger. "Why don't you accept that you are following because you don't have any clues and want to push anybody in that hole?"

They are fighting like cats and dogs. Nobody wants to let it go. Ryan barely resisted himself from cracking with laughter. Eva and Owen were more shocked by Ryan's behaviour than their conflict. "Will you guys keep thoughtful or should I call the security?" a nurse said. "Both of you can take your patients now. And Mr.Young (Ryan) will you come aside so that I can explain the medicines to you?"

"Yes," he said and goes with that nurse.

"Are you here for anybody?" Eva said June.

"Yes," said June.

"I'm sorry on behalf of Noah," said Eva.

"People should say their sorry themselves," she replied as loudly so that the person in the cabin could hear her. He glared at her annoyingly. "Anyway, I think the handkerchief before on Ryan's hand was yours, wasn't it?" she said.

"Yes," said Eva.

"Then would you mind if I ask you how do you know each other? I know you guys are an old acquaintance. I thought to ask you before I ask him."
