Amanda Heyes is a struggling children's book illustrator who is invited to look after her editor's remote mountain home for the winter. She hopes it will be a chance to paint and work without worrying too much about rent but instead finds herself drawn toward a huge white wolf and his two pups.

When the wolf turns out to be a shifter named Levi, everything changes for Amanda, as she quickly finds herself drawn to Levi despite his rough exterior. With the threat of rogues led by Levi's jealous older brother, Jed, against them, and the knowledge that Levi must soon return to his secluded pack, can a romance ever truly bloom between the two?

	“Where, oh, where is Dakota?” Amanda sang, tapping her chin. “Hmm… not in the closet.”


	A muted giggle sounded from beneath the bed.


	Amanda ducked her head under the desk in the corner, then leaned over the monster scanner and printer. “Not here. Has she disappeared?”


	“I know where she is!” Utah said, practically vibrating in place with excitement. “I can smell her out for you!”


	“Uh-uh, smelling is cheating,” she said. “Hm… is she… beneath the covers?” Amanda flung back the perfectly-made sheets with a flourish, gasping. “She’s not here either!”


	The laughter beneath the bed started to get louder.


	“She must be invisible!” Amanda sighed, thumping back on the bed. “I’ll never find her!”


	Utah hopped up on the bed. “She’s close!” He insisted. “You’ll find her, Miss Amanda! Keep looking!”


	Amanda shook her head back and forth, dramatically wailing. “Oh, I’ll never find her! Will I never see Dakota again? How has this happened?”
