Pleasantly full and feeling high on the feeling of Levi’s direct attention, Amanda practically skipped as they walked through the chilly night air. The trees were strung with lights that illuminated their path as they made the short walk through town, which was only a few blocks. There wasn’t much to look at, but Amanda didn’t mind. It was nice just to walk beneath the moon with Levi, hand-in-hand.
“I’ll have to work on crafting a place for you to stay,” Levi said, out of nowhere.
“Hmm?” Amanda looked up at him.
“So you can visit,” he clarified. “If… if you had a house to stay at, would you come to see me?”
Her heart softened. “Oh, Levi.”
“Would you?”
“Of course, I would.”
He smiled. “Good. I’ll have to make it to your liking. Small, a nice kitchen, plenty of light for you to paint by. And a huge bed.”
“I don’t need a huge bed,” she mused.
“Well, you’d need room for me, of course.”
She threw back her head and laughed. “Of course.”
