Islet has waited eighteen long years and is eager to know the face of her soul mate. In a cruel twist of fate, she learns that the Holy One has paired her with royalty. But not just any royalty, Prince Cerulean of the neighboring country, who has recently announced his engagement to Princess Marilla of Selkie. The same princess that Islet can't stand.

I take the prince into my arms and squeeze him tightly. 


“I don’t have nearly enough on me to fill this.”


Cerulean sighs deeply into my shoulders. “I don’t want to give up,” he says softly.


I pull him to arms-length and smile. “Who says we’re giving up?”


Confused, his frown deepens to an unsettling degree. “You’re a commoner.”


Cerulean arcs a brow. “How did you manage to do that anyway?”


“Dive spots. I own a good chunk of property in Loreilei for the low,” I say and wiggle my brows. Even his smirk disappears back into his frown. 


He pipes up at that and looks me over. “Are you somehow carrying enough in this thin dress of yours to sustain a kingdom?”


“Together?” I pull him over to the coins and pick one up. 


“You realize that you’re the only kingdom that has a host of gold like this?”
