Chapter 48: Trial of Crucification

For the first time in several grueling hours, the sun began to make its presence known to the inhabitants of the island in the sky. The storm clouds were withering away as the sacred light shined over the once sacred field that flourished outside the Elyon Tomb. Armed guards and sadistic soldiers were scattered as far as the eye could see, impatiently waiting for the arrival of Mason Corpse.

Grim stood at the top of the stairway that led into the ancient tomb and continuously scanned the area for any sign of his prisoner with his hands folded behind his back. “Has anyone seen the child yet?” he asked his general.

“Not yet, sir. We’re prepared for his arrival, however. Shall we commence with the bait?” he asked the mad man.
