Chapter 25: Watch a movie

Rafe meant to stay away from Lindi, didn't want to give her the opportunity to cancel their date next week. But Friday night, he found himself driving to her apartment. He wanted to kiss her again. The kiss in the park had only whetted his appetite for her. Their lips may have touched for mere seconds, but he'd been reminded of her taste, her fragrance, how soft her lips were. He wanted, needed more of her.

He pressed the button for her apartment. "Yes," she said. In the background, he heard music, and it had to be the twins singing along. Off-key.

"It's Rafe."

Silence, then a sigh. "Come on up."

At her door, he turned his head, listening to the sound of Lindi and the twins singing loudly and badly, to a song he assumed played on the television. They sang with such gusto, and he enjoyed the sheer energy so much, he stood several minutes before he knocked.
