A hickey; seriously?!
I examine it in the mirror. It tingles when I run my fingers over the skin.
He wasn't playing around; he's dead serious.
The mark on my neck is an angry red; this is going to be interesting to hide.
I grab the skin-tone strapping tape I use on my back and rip a couple of short strips to cover the mark up.
It doesn’t take long.
The weather is warmer today, so the tape will have to be sufficient.
No wonder he was so calm when he walked me back to Mango Tree café. He cornered me into getting what he wanted.
If this is happening, I need clarity. I should know about my buried memories.
I have to ask for some help.
I'm going to have to go back to see Mara; maybe she can help me figure this out. Whatever this is.
"Mei?" I call, walking into her room.
She looks up from her desk.
"Yeah babe?"
"You have a summer scarf I could borrow?"
"Sure," her eyebrows draw together. "What for?"
I let out an angry huff.
"Kian gave me a hickey."
