An Oath

Bam!... Urgh!

Slowly standing back up to his feet, Blade's blurred vision once more refocused on his foe a few meters away. A ten-foot humanoid beast with golden fur which covered the whole of its upper body containing immense strength even when compared to others in the same realm.

Hopping a few meters back, Blade grabbed hold of the staff resting on his back as he took on a fighting stance. His hands divided the staff into three equal sections with his right palm facing up and his left palm facing down...

A small smirk appeared on the beast as its figure blurred and in a mere second, appeared in front of Blade with its claws already slashing toward Blade! Instantly after seeing this, Blade placed the bo staff parallel to the floor while it was above his head and blocking the path of the beast.

Peng!

The steel-like claws of the beast, and the staff made contact, with the beast unable to outpower Blade, as the same could be said for Blade himself. But, while the beast which was lacking in intelligence still tried to compete in that position, Blade used this chance to attack the open and defenseless body of the golden-furred beast.

Bam!

Sending a powerful kick to the monster's abdomen, Blade prepared to follow up his attack as the humanoid in front of him unconsciously took a few steps back while grabbing its belly in pain.

With one end of the bo staff under his armpit, and the other end pointed straight out in front of Blade, he moved the striking end of the bo staff toward the golden-furred beast's ankles on the right side of its body. Quickly pivoting his hips to the right, he swiped the beast's legs, causing it to lose its balance and fall over.

Thud!

Using this moment of confusion for the beast, Blade held the bo staff in a standard grip.

Raising his right hand and lowering his left hand so that the staff tilted at about a 45-degree angle, he then extended his right arm and brought his left hand across his chest. With his full power, he then followed up by thrusting the low end of the staff downward at the head of the beast who couldn't react in time...

Bam!

His blunt weapon bashed into the nose bridge of the beast yet, Blade didn't let up from this advantageous position. His movements were swift, after being honed for a few months and absorbing the teachings of Jin, Blade's comprehension which was beyond the realms of genius and in the realms of monsters, showed its true strength as he continuously pounded on the Martial Art Disciple-Level threat on the ground below him.

Bam Bam Bam Bam Crack!!!!

Continuously and without care for the blood that splattered onto his hands and face, Blade hammered the beast with attacks. The loud sound of the skull cracking seemed to not affect him as his speed only increased.

Crack! Crack! Crack! Splash!!!

More loud cracking noises echoed in the dark surroundings before... The splashing sound of the beast's blood and brain matter spraying off its head filled with the cave as Blade had now finally regained some shred of humanity and stopped his actions. His bo staff which was previously light brown was now fully painted in the red sticky blood of his victim as he pulled it out of the head of the golden-furred beast, leaving behind a trail of blood.

Seeing his final work of art, Blade had a devastatingly deranged smirk on his face as for some reason unknown, he had found himself enjoying the battle that he had dominated from beginning to end. Though he knew things would have ended much differently if his opponent had some semblance of intelligence and technique... he didn't mind. The humans had techniques and all the intellect but lacked physical strength while the beasts... they had all the physical strength but lack the necessary intelligence to make use of it, him on the other hand had both.

He didn't need to be worried by anyone!

Seeing this, the disgusting smile on Blade's face grew wider and even his eyes formed crescent shapes as he realized he wasn't too far away from upgrading his system once again.

"Your techniques and your cultivation base have all improved greatly in such a short time. To be honest, I expected to finish this in a few years, a couple of years for the earliest yet, well... Sigh!"

Mysteriously appearing at the entrance of the cave, a couple tens of meters away from Blade, Jin's figure approached Blade as he mumbled in shock, awe, and respect after witnessing the life of a true genius for the past six months.

Turning his attention away from the system's screen, Blade turned to his master and cupped his fists while bowing his head, "Master?" He said confused as to why Jin had appeared before him.

"Don't be soo surprised, your strength has reached the Martial Art Disciple level, and your mastery over the Bo Staff has also reached an acceptable level so it's time for you to move on..." Pausing to build up tension, Jin continued.

"Your boyfriend has already entered the sect so I see no reason why you shouldn't enter too." Jin, knowing well he had pissed off his disciple, said with a smile while taking out a scroll from his Space Ring.

With a tick mark on his forehead, Blade then uttered... "Oh, Dolion has already entered? Does this mean he has also reached the Martial Art Disciple realm?" Blade confusedly asked. He didn't think that Dolion had reached said realm before even him.

"Haha... no, of course not. Simply because you're a monster doesn't mean everyone is. He has already entered the peak of the meridian opening realm and also reached a substantial level in the technique the old hag taught him... Reaching such a level in a mere six months... that alone is something I've never seen yet, here you are, someone who's even more of a monster than the old hag's monster... hehe!"

Jin replied while making sure to stretch the words "old hag" every time he mentioned it. Seeing this, Blade could only ignore and move on as he didn't want anything to do with the rivalry between his master and Dolion's master.

"Oh, I almost forgot, you've got to say an oath when entering the Limitless Sky Sect!" Jin said, and seeing Blade squinting his eyes, he continued. "No matter what Sect you join, said Sect would need you to prove you're not going to betray them, especially when entering the core of the Sect. Our Limitless Sky Sect barely accepts cultivators on the whole hence the reason that even if one simply joins the Outer Domain, one must say the oath."

Hearing these words, Blade kind of understood. Like back in Demon's Playground, Heavenly Demon Sect had their disciples consume poisonous pills to make sure said disciples didn't run away when doing missions.

Such pills... It was lucky that he had his system otherwise both Dolion and Blade would have died, their stories ending right there and then.

...

...

Before saying the oath he had already memorized, Blade first asked his system.

'Little system, would happen anything bad happen if I'm to say this oath?' And as a docile little servant, the system replied almost instantaneously.

[Ding]

[The host does not need to worry. As the Cosmic Will must keep utmost neutrality, no one, no matter how powerful, can use the Cosmic Will to attack another. It is common for many cultivators who don't trust one another to swear upon the Cosmic Will to maintain some sort of order]

Hearing this, Blade watched Jin in the eyes and said without hesitation...

"The Cosmic Will as my witness, I Blade Pure-Heart swear on the bloodline of my ancestors to never bring harm to the Limitless Sky Sect. If I'm to break this ought, may I face the wrath of the Cosmic Will and forever be turned to ash by the Will of the Cosmos!!!"

THRUM!!!

The skies turned black as a lightning bolt golden in color suddenly struck down. Due to the sheer speed of this lightning bolt, neither Blade nor even someone as powerful as Jin was able to react to it as a bright golden light descended onto the body of Blade.

An aura filled with majesty washed over the body of Blade as he felt like something suddenly wrapped around his heart region. It was a comfortable and refreshing feeling completely new to him as he felt his mind clear.

A smile formed on Jin's face as he then handed Blade an old-looking scroll while saying. "This contains the technique; Dance of the Eight Gods, how much you comprehend is up to your ability which is something no one I've met can compare to. Mastering this technique will help you in the future so cultivate it diligently..." He said as he then gestured for Blade to hop on a disk-shaped object that levitated in the air.
