Chapter 23: Choices

“Ava?” I asked as I began to back up. Her body had gone limp but was still standing.

“I think that’s my cue to go. Good luck, boys.” Craig said as he waved and then the same thing happened to him. His eyes had gone blank and his body went limp.

“Well, that was strange. These are just meat suits for them. What do we do now?” Grayson asked me.

“We do what we’ve been doing. Find clues, and save Matt. Wherever he might be.” I told him as we began to make our way out of the park.

“What about the prophecy book? Should we read more of it?” Grayson asked me.

“I don’t think we need to. Let’s keep it with us but what matters the most is reuniting with Matt. We don’t need to know everything, we just need to be together again. Okay?” I answered as I patted him on the shoulder. He nodded and we continued walking down the path that seemed to lead from the fountain to the sidewalk in front of the buildings.
