For a brief second, she could not move away from the spot she stood but after a while, she walked closer to the bed. She forgot her promise of not going closer to him. Being so close to him, she saw his injuries and scars, he must have scratched himself, subconsciously instilling injuries upon himself just to resist the poison from acting up.

Her heart ached, his brows were knitted and his jaw clenched. At some point, he would tug at the shackles as though he wanted to break free from them. Her heart tightened as she watched his struggles. She used to believe he was a bad person but, in real honesty, he never hurt anyone. He could have killed so many people but he chose to hide away, he chose to restrain himself. 

Lena could not stop herself from raising her hand and placing it on his cheek, she caressed his face gently and tried to soothe the crease of his brows. She wondered if he would recognize her presence, hopefully, he will...
