It Was A Bit Frightening, Honestly

Laney was relieved to find out that Lissy didn't have a concussion. She was less relieved when she ran into their father later that morning at his apartment and he didn't so much as ask where Lissy had been the night before. He didn't even notice she was gone, simply asked why they weren't at work and school.

Her blood boiled. That pathetic excuse for a parent had never once cared about either of his children so why pretend now?

Thankfully, he didn't stick around long. He left as quickly as he came and it was just her and her sister again. The time where her situation was stable enough that she could apply for custody couldn't come too soon.

She had to wait until she and Richard divorced though because he definitely wouldn't want her sister around so he would have to pretend in his own home. He had a hard enough time pretending in public.
