If You Don't Ask

Kimora stood in shock as she looked at the jewel-encrusted grip Yren's father was offering her.

"T-Thank you!" Kimora exclaimed as she took the item from Tybrus.

"Now," Tybrus said, pulling out a knife, then continuing with, "I need to give it some of your blood to bind it, and then you will be the only one that can use it."

Kimora nodded and reached her free hand out. She winced as Tybrus poked her finger with the tip of his dagger, and let go of her hand.

Kimora touched her finger to the weapon, and suddenly both started to glow red.

"Astros!" Kimora cried out, and the light faded.

Kimora nodded, but she was fixated on the item in her hands. It was like nothing she had ever seen before, and she had never heard of binding.

"Good, but do activate it inside of here! Now, Ginny," Tybrus said, turning to Ginny who squealed in surprise.

"Me?!" Ginny asked.

"Yeah, I have a staff for you. I don't know what you use right now, but this will be better for you, ya know," Tybrus said as he turned, and grabbed a wrapped item that was leaning on the wall.

Tybrus pulled off the cloth to reveal a large curved staff with a massive green gem on the top. The wood curled around to cradle the massive gen as it sparkled with life.

"Oh! This is mine?" Ginny exclaimed as she took the large staff from Tybrus.

"Yeah, like your dress, this will increase your supportive Magic and Skills. It will also give you a buff to your healing as well because of the massive life gem. This is a high-level drop, but there is no rank restriction on it, so you can use it," Tybrus explained.

"Really?! Thank you so much, Mr. Lent! This is so amazing!"Ginny exclaimed in excitement.

"Ah, don't worry about it, ya know! You girls are going to be like daughters to me, so it is only fitting I do something like this, ya know!" Tybrus said bashfully.

Ginny rushed over and hugged Tybrus, and he hugged her back. Tybrus was lavishing in all of this and was starting to wish he had a girl instead of his boneheaded son.

Still, Tybrus had to hand it to the boy for taming these two beauties. These two would make fine daughters, so he would make sure that they stayed safe the best way he could.

Yren watched all of this from the back, and he was happy. His father never looked so full of life as he explained the weapons to the girls, and that was good enough for him.

It wasn't like Yren really disliked his father, but sometimes a son had to light a fire under his father's arse to get him moving! His old man had done a good job, but the girls were already giving him more than enough thanks.

"Alright, do you think that we are ready to get going?" Yren asked the girls as they were both looking over their new items.

"Oh? You aren't going to ask if I have something for you?" Tybrus asked suspiciously.

"No," Yren said flatly.

"But, what if I make you something really nice?" Tybrus asked with a gleam in his eye.

"You didn't," Yren growled.

"How would you know if you don't ask?" Tybrus teased.

"Fine! What did you make for me?!" Yren barked, rounding on his father.

"Nothing, you ungrateful brat!" Tybrus barked back and started to laugh.

"Idiot!" Yren shouted, and stormed out of the forge nearly spitting fire.

The girls held back their smiles, and both of them thanked Yren's father for all his hard work, but both of them were uneasy.

"Don't worry about us. We are like this most of the time, and he will get over himself sooner or later. I might have made him live a hard life, but it will make him respect things more as he gets older. He is very lucky to have the two of you with him to support him," Tybrus explained.

"I think that we are the lucky ones. Our parents are very forceful about us getting closer to your son, and he could have taken advantage of that, but he didn't. I think that you raised him well, and we will take good care of him, right Kimora?" Ginny asked, turning to her sister.

Kimora only nodded, making Ginny sigh.

"Good. Now I will see you girls later," Tybrus said and both girls left the shop as he turned back to stare into the fire of his forge.

Yren was waiting for the girls when they got outside. He was going over what he was going to show Kimora once they reached the Dungeon.

"I think we are ready to go now," Ginny said with a smile as Kimora and she walked over to where Yren was waiting.

"Yeah. Kimora, I will carry you again, and we will jog to the Dungeon if you don't mind, Ginny. It will be good to get the blood pumping a bit before we go inside," Yren explained as he walked over to Kimora.

To his surprise, Kimora didn't resist, and she even put an arm around Yren's neck to make it a bit easier on him. Yren didn't say anything about it as he lifted Kimora's small robed body up in his arms.

"Yes, I am okay to run if you want. I suppose it is a good idea to warm up first before we go inside," Ginny replied.

Yren and Ginny took off at a run, but not too fast as to jar Kimora, slowly disappearing into the distance. Tybrus watched them until they had completely vanished, and then took his apron off.

"Well, now that this is done, it is time for me to go see the Demon and find out what he isn't saying. Mira, I hope this is what you planned," Tybrus said to himself with a sigh, and closed his forge doors, heading into the center of town.
