Not Ready

Once the three reached the Dungeon entrance, Yren put Kimora down, and she adjusted her robes.

"I will wait over here by this tree while you get my sister set up," Ginny said with a smile as she walked over to a large nearby tree.

"Alright, let's go walk over to that tree over there. It should provide you shade for the entire time we are in the dungeon," Yren explained as he pointed at a large tree in the opposite direction that Ginny had walked.

"Why should I be worried about shade?" Kimora asked as the two started to walk slowly, eyeing Yren suspiciously.

"Because you will be sitting down the entire time," Yren explained but also mentally prepared himself for what was to come next.

"What do you mean I will be sitting? How am I supposed to use this weapon like that?!" Kimora growled as they reached the tree.

"You won't be using that today. You need to learn to manifest and control your Mana," Yren replied as he sat down in the shaded grass under a huge canopy from the tree.

"Why not! What is the point of having this stupid thing if I don't even get to use it?!" Kimora shouted at Yren.

"You are going to have to put in some work before using a brand new weapon that no one has ever used before. My stupid father made this harder since I can't use the weapon to give you an idea of how it works, but control comes first. Now, sit down," Yren explained.

Kimora wanted to argue. She wanted to kick him right in the face, but that wouldn't make this any easier.

She had assumed that she would have been able to use it right away since Yren had designed it for her. Now Kimora was being told that she was going to have to do some sort of training.

"Fine," Kimora grumbled as she slowly sat down on the ground in front of Yren with her back to Ginny.

"Good. Now, I know that you really wanted to use the weapon, and wanted to see you use it, but my father is an idiot. Since you can't cast spells, you have probably never felt your Mana or tried to use it, so you will have no control. To use this weapon will require you to understand each jewel, and to be able to direct your Mana to the ones you need," Yren explained, and Kimora groaned again.

"That sounds really complicated!" Kimora complained.

"It is," Yren agreed.

"What?! You're not supposed to agree with me, you idiot!" Kimora shouted, but Yren put a finger to his lips.

"Sssh. Stop getting worked up about it. Even if you could use the bow right away, are you ready to go inside the Dungeon?" Yren asked, and Kimora's eyes snapped open wide.

The two stared at each other for a brief moment, but then Kimora looked away from Yren. She still had deep scars from the first time she had tried, and she knew she was too weak.

"Concentrate on the tasks that I give you, and practice them. Get good at them. This requires no body strength, only mind strength and concentration," Yren said with a smile.

"Fine! What do you want me to do then?" Kimora demanded, and Yren sighed but held up his hands, palms five inches apart.

Yren concentrated and pushed twin streams from the center of his body to course down his arms. The energy flowed into the palms of each of his hands, and then two small blue tendrils appeared.

"What is that?!" Kimora asked with shock.

She had never seen anything like the small glowing blue lines that were trying to connect in the middle.

Yren relaxed his control a bit and the blue threads started to weave back and forth like writhing snakes. He did this so Kimora could understand better, and not get so frustrated on her first attempts.

"This is the Mana that I have pulled from the center of my body and ran down my arms to my palms. The idea is to create a connection using the strands of Mana. You will start off close, and then practice moving your hands further apart. After that, you will work on using the connected Mana to create shapes while adding more Mana," Yren explained, but Kimora already had her hands up.

"If you can do this, then so can I!" Kimora growled, with a look of intense concentration.

Yren sighed and waited, but nothing happened. Finally, Kimora gasped for air, panting, with an angry look on her face.

"I don't know what you are talking about! I am trying to find the Mana, but I don't know what I am looking for!" Kimora shouted in frustration.

No matter how hard she concentrated, there was no way she could find her Mana. It made her feel like she might not even have any, and that was close to bringing her to tears.

Yren knew what was wrong, and stood up.

"What, are you just going to leave now?! I have no Mana, so I am useless, right?!" Kimora shouted, but Yren ignored her.

He walked over to where Kimora was sitting and went behind her, sitting down. Yren put his legs on either side of her, knees raised.

"Lean back and relax. Don't argue with me or I will pull your ear. Everyone had Mana, but people aren't taught to control it because we don't have an abundance of weapons like yours it seems," Yren explained, but Kimora didn't move right away, and he didn't force her.

"Why do you want to help me so badly? Did my father or mother put you up to this?" Kimora growled, Yren grabbed her ear, making her shout, "Hey, stop! Oww!"

"What did I just tell you? If you want to learn you need to listen to me. You are stronger than you know, but your attitude is getting in the way of your growth. I am doing this because I want to, no other reason," Yren explained, and Kimora slowly sank back into his chest nervously.
