Episodes 132. Between Honor and Love

The snowstorm didn't just hit Podoagung School, but nearly the entire surrounding area. The local residents were bewildered by this strange natural phenomenon. For the young people, it might be a rare occurrence that happens only a few times in a decade, but for the adults, this phenomenon was their worst nightmare. They immediately remembered the Summer of Fire that burned all the residents of Ningru City who didn't wear the Anitya as recommended by that old lady.

On the village streets, Erika and Xander were running around, alerting everyone to what was happening.

"Everyone, be careful! The Winter of Ice phenomenon is about to take place, and all residents must evacuate out of town immediately!" Erika, without softening her tone, caused an uproar in the village.

The confused villagers finally locked their eyes on Erika and Xander, who were running like mad people in the middle of the street.

"Is this phenomenon the same as before?" One of the villagers tried to approach, crossing his arms and shivering from the cold.

"Possibly, but the effects of this phenomenon might not be the same as before. If fire obliterates, then ice will freeze you all..." Erika's statement terrified the villagers, and that was just her initial comment. "...With Anitya technology, that might mean you'll stay alive inside that ice for hundreds of years until someone melts you!"

Erika's last statement turned the villagers' shivering from cold into shivering from fear. Cold sweat in the middle of the snow began to soak their bodies, and they didn't know what they could do if what Erika said happened to them.

"Hey, doesn't that mean our only option is to evacuate right now?!" (Villager)

"Yes, that's why you must leave immediately!" (Xander)

"What about our valuables?"

"Goddamn it! Just leave them! Your valuables will be safe in storm, but not your lives! If you freeze here, something more terrifying than death will come upon you! Don't you just understand?!"

The prince's lecture left the cold-sweating villagers even more lifeless. None of them could speak.

Seeing the worried expressions of the villagers made Xander sigh and think 'Should I use it?' in his heart.

With a short sigh, Xander patted his chest with a serious expression. "Rest assured, your valuables will be safe under the name of Xander Family!"

"Re-really?!"

"Hmm (nodding)"

"Th-then, excuse us."

With a definite assurance, the villagers felt relieved and finally prepared to leave the area, believing that all their valuables would be guarded by Xander's Family.

The village grew quieter as it was deserted. On the other hand, Erika and Xander could only watch in silence as the villagers hurriedly left their village.

"Are you sure about this, Xander?"

When asked that, Xander could only stare at the snow-covered ground.

"It's their mistake to trust me!"

Hearing this statement, Erika widened her eyes and opened her mouth in shock.

"What do you mean?!"

"This is 2056, trusting powerful people is a mistake..." Saying that, Xander turned and walked away, leaving Erika still confused by his answer. "As long as our task is completed, I don't care anymore..."

Erika turned to face Xander, biting her frozen lip hard, tears falling and wetting her cold cheeks. At this moment, she only wanted to say one thing, which was that she was very upset with Xander's behavior.

She didn't know what had happened to the man, but ignoring civilians and focusing more on the mission was not the Xander she knew.

*Whush!

With lightning speed, Erika released an arrow from her bow. The arrow shot straight at the head of the man who was walking away.

"Erika...?" Xander dodged the arrow, turning to face Erika and reading her expression.

Erika's face, with her eyes narrowed and locked onto Xander, continued to be seen by the man.

"I'm angry with your actions, you're acting like a fucking coward, just like the other high-society cockroach... That~ makes me really mad!"

Erika's hatred for the high-status people, which had faded, now burned again. It reminded her of how egotistical those people were. If she didn't know who Xander was, she might have immediately followed up with another attack after Xander dodged her first arrow.

"Is that so? Fine, we'll see who has the right to speak! If you win, then I will keep those words, and if you lose~ then shut the fuck up and follow my goddamn PLAN!"

A fight in the middle of a disaster had been agreed upon. The two of them, who were supposed to be evacuating the villagers, now ended up arguing and fighting each other. This was unavoidable; both were in shock about the truth of their friend, and now they were emotional because they didn't know how to act.

They both accepted this evacuation mission also because they didn't know what to do if they met Rasyid directly at this time.

"Come on, Erika!" Xander taunted while activating his pageblug.

There was no turning back; here they had made up their minds. They just had to buy time not to face their friend.

"No, you first, Xander!" On the other hand, Erika drew her bowstring and prepared to shoot Xander no matter how fast he moved.

.......

Logically thinking, Xander activated his light magic and ran zigzag to avoid the direction of the arrow aimed at him.

*Whush!

But with trained eyes, Erika managed to predict where Xander's body would be.

She released an arrow at her opponent, causing Xander to stop right near the arrow that shot past. The man saw how the arrow passed between his eyes and then stared at a nearby wooden fence.

"That was close, Champion!" A grinning smile accompanied the man's pleasure as he dodged the arrow.

But just as he looked back at his opponent, he saw a face already right in front of his, possibly just a fingertip away, even looking like someone about to kiss.

With a terrifying face, Erika pierced Xander's stomach with an arrow engulfed in blazing flames.

"Your current emotions make you very careless, Xander!"

Erika looked down on her opponent, finishing him off in a very short time and without any significant resistance.

Gradually, Xander's consciousness began to fade, and he finally collapsed to the ground with a large hole in his stomach.

Erika looked disdainfully at how low the prince was at that moment and how pathetic this man was, falling to the bottom of the pit of sadness like this. "You promised me, Xander! And now you have to keep it!"

Though her opponent had lost consciousness, Erika kept shouting at him, hoping that the man would hear her.

Erika celebrated her victory by greeting the rising moon and the setting sun.

"Mother, was what you said that night true?" Erika suddenly remembered her mother's words that night.
