Episodes 159. Son of Goddess

"Everyone, hold your positions!" Ryan shouted, attempting to align the helicopter blades forward as he had done before.

The rest of us prepared to brace ourselves for the jump.

There was so much I wanted to say to him, especially about why he chose to fight Doni alone. Previously, he mentioned that he had unfinished business with that man, but he didn't elaborate beyond that.

All of us inside the helicopter could only nod in resignation and agree to my cousin's request.

Erika was actually the one most opposed to this plan, but the pressing time forced her to take the risk.

"I don't like this plan, but time is of the essence for all of us. Come on, everyone, jump and attack in turns! Starting with you, Rasyid, then me, Sophia, and Stevent!"

Erika led like a war general. Whether it was adrenaline or because the opponent was a high-ranking official, she was determined to strike.

The helicopter began to tilt, making it impossible to stand without holding on.

At that moment, I jumped and activated my pageblug.

"CODE NAME: DNKSM, WEAK TO MAGIC! CONDITION: MAN WITH AXE, IF NOT: DO NOTHING!"

I activated the CODE magic to make him vulnerable to the next attack.

*Slash!

My sword swung with water coated in light magic, creating a perfect slash.

However, after landing post-attack, I didn't hear any sounds of pain.

As expected from the mayor's son.

I immediately turned and took a defensive stance.

*Clang!

Just as I anticipated.

An axe blade flew rapidly toward my head.

Luckily, I managed to parry it with my sword.

But even so, axe against sword left me struggling, especially since the axe was above my sword, putting me at a disadvantage.

"You're terrifying as always, Doni!"

"Unusual for you to start the conversation first! But thanks!"

As my strength waned, a shot whizzed towards him.

*Thrust!

Of course, such a thing wouldn't defeat him instantly.

He effortlessly caught the arrow with his other hand.

"Come on! I don't mind fighting two or even four of you at once!"

He challenged all of us.

Seeing him distracted, I immediately kicked his knee.

*Thud!

"Heh?" He just smirked.

I didn't stop there; I swung my sword towards his neck.

But unfortunately,

*Clack!

His hand turned into a rock, hard enough to be diamond-like.

"It's not that easy!"

Countering my sword, he threw my weapon aside with his hardened arm.

Weaponless, I took a step back and executed a backward somersault.

As I turned, a fan flew past me while I was still in the air from the somersault.

The fan flew towards Doni, who anticipated the incoming attack.

He tried to block it with his stone hand.

*Crash!

But as his hand touched the fan, he was shocked.

"Huh?!"

His stone hand stuck to the fan.

Soon, an ice balloon emerged from the fan, freezing part of the man's body.

When I say part, I'm not lying. Half of his body, specifically his entire right side, was encased in ice.

"Cheap tricks won't destroy me that easily!"

With all his strength, he shattered the ice block encasing him.

*Crack!

The ice block shattered into pieces, but at that moment, everything went according to plan.

Stevent, moving at the speed of light, created a water stream that followed him everywhere.

Making the area around Doni more watery caused the ice shards to freeze the water created by Stevent.

The water stream circling Doni and forming abstract patterns immediately froze, no longer following its master. The stream seemed like ropes trying to bind someone.

Seeing his part complete, Stevent tried to finish with a charge attack.

"Got you!" He attempted to slash Doni, who was still in perfect condition.

*Thud!

As expected, Doni immediately caught Stevent by lifting the young man with just his right hand.

"Damn!"

"If you want to attack, at least recognize your enemy first!" While lecturing the boy, Doni grabbed Stevent's glasses and smashed them to the ground.

Damn, he'll have even more trouble seeing now!

In a hurry, I dashed past the newly created ice wall using light magic. Moving like lightning, I zig-zagged towards Doni.

I aimed the tip of my sword at his chest, making him instinctively defend that spot.

When he took that position, I immediately halted my movement and switched to a kick.

I tried to kick the man's knee, but he quickly read my move.

He stepped back a few paces, knowing where my target was now.

He looked at Stevent, whom he held like a caught fish.

*Crash!

Stevent's body was thrown far, out of the ice palace.

My opponent was no longer interested in the boy; his interest was solely in me.

Raising both shoulders high, he challenged me like a final boss in a game or movie.

Responding to his body language, I advanced with light speed.

He tried to catch me, but I managed to slip past.

Doni immediately took a defensive position, knowing what would happen next.

But he was a bit disappointed...

Because I didn't follow through.

Instead of attacking back, I kept moving forward, away from him, towards Stevent lying weak on the ground.

In a flash, I carried Stevent's body and fled with him into the building.

Erika and Sophia nodded at each other and followed my direction.

"You can't escape!"

Seeing us trying to flee, Doni raised both hands, ready to slam the ground.

But before he could...

Ryan's helicopter pointed its blades at Doni. The blades generated enough wind force to blow away everything around.

"I won't lose to a machine!"

Doni challenged the machine, anchoring his feet with earth that clamped his ankles.

The blades drew closer to him.

He knew what would happen if it reached him.

He took a risk, releasing the earth shackles and slamming the ground quickly.

An earth wall emerged, blocking the wind and blades.

But being a machine, it continued to grind down the wall until it broke, tearing Doni behind it into pieces.

*Slash! *Slash! *Slash!

His body flew apart, raining down on the ground.

Doni wasn't allowed to scream before feeling the excruciating pain.

*Boom!

Ryan's helicopter exploded after losing control and crashing into a nearby building.

Soon after, Ryan flew out using his wind magic, landing near Doni's reassembling body.

"Long time no see, Doni," Ryan greeted him. "When was the last time we met?" He said, grinning.

"I know you! I always remember your face! The face that caused me to fail in receiving pure elemental magic! Agus Ryan Handoko, I swore from that day, that if I ever saw you again, I'd eliminate you in a way more terrifying than death!" Doni threatened Ryan, but his current state didn't scare Ryan at all.

Ryan glanced at the front door of the mayor's building, smiling in satisfaction at the outcome. "Looks like they made it inside…"
