The devil lied

"Didn't you see him?"

I hid behind the Flowers, knowing they won't be enough to hide me, I had to cover my body with the devil's robe.

"My body shook when his eyes landed on me. Gods! I thought I was going to be roasted to crisp!" Another female spoke up.

This one's voice was timid compared to that of the princess, who sounded sure.

"His eyes on me made me shiver with joy. The feeling was so much for me to keep calm about it!"

Wait a minute.

This doesn't sound like the princess was about to escape. She seemed to be chatting with her friend.

I sigh.

I better leave here.

Staying here might cause me to fall asleep, as the princess is bound to discuss something of less importance.

Like now, she's discussing another man while she's getting married to the devil tomorrow.

I had this urge in me to storm out there and pull her ears.

"He's the devil, princess. You shouldn't have feelings for him!"
