A way out

"Okay, let's go." I took her hand in mine and led her towards the second passageway.

"How did you know of the secret room next to your room?" Sarit asked as she tried to keep pace while shuffling the heavy bag of food.

"I lived here most of my life, have you forgotten, already?" I arched a brow at her.

"I've not forgotten. I'm just surprised you never took this route."

I waved off the few cobwebs on the way as I headed down the familiar route.

"When I was still a child, was when I discovered this place. Back then, when I found out it led to the kitchen, I used it as a means to steal as much food as I can, from the kitchen, without being caught by the mean cook who was always on the lookout for me.

Most times, I think she Knows I'm the one who does that."

Sarit snickered, "that Demon has a pretty good ear. Thankfully, she's too slow on her feet."

"That's why you were able to sneak past her, isn't that right?"
