Choose for me

"My Queen, you do not look alright" said Nora as she looked at Wura with worry as Wura seemed to be lost in thought, she had a huge frown on her face, that was joined with one of hopelessness.

"Of course, how can I be alright when I have to attend a wake, which will be my first official engagement" said Wura to herself as she sighed and she shook her head.

"I am not alright Nora…" replied Wura as she turned to look at Nora, that was the truth, she was not alright at all.

"My Queen, if I may ask, why is that so?" asked Nora she was worried, she really hoped that Wura was well, and that she was not catching a cold, because it had been rather warm lately, the winter was almost going to end after so long.

"Well because Lady Marli, informed me about the wake" said Wura as she sighed.

"I would have been fine with only attend the wake and paying my respects" said Wura.

"But I have to show that I am strong, and I have to show support for the people" said Wura as she sighed, just how was she going to do that??

"My Queen, I am sure that you will be alright" said Nora as she smiled.

"No Nora, I will not be, I have done nothing of this sort before" said Wura as she shook her head.

"My Queen, I believe that you will do just fine" said Nora as she smiled, she was relieved that Wura felt well, and that she was only feeling nervous, which was only normal, she was going to official stand in front of the people as Queen, and she was going to speak to the people as a Queen, and not Princess.

"How are you so sure Nora?" asked Wura as she looked at Nora.

"Well because my Queen, I believe in you" said Nora as she smiled and Wura could not help but smile, it was nice to hear someone say that they believed in you.

"You are kind, you are sweet, and you are generous, I am sure that the people will like your support and strength in this sad time" said Nora as she smiled.

"Thank you Nora" said Wura as she smiled, Nora had put her heart at ease.

"You are welcome my Queen" said Nora as she smiled.

"Will you come along with me?" asked Wura.

"Of course my Queen, I will" said Nora as she smiled, as Wura's personal maid she would need to be there in case Wura would need anything.

"Alright then" said Wura as she smiled, she felt much more better now that she knew Nora would be there with her.

"My Queen what would you like to wear for the wake tonight?" asked Nora as she smiled, her duty was to make sure that Wura was properly prepared for tonight.

"I do not know Nora" said Wura as she sighed, she was never one to think of such things, she found it tiring.

"You can choose for me" said Wura as she really did not want to choose right now, all she wanted to do was try to relax her mind.

"As you wish my Queen" said Nora as she bowed and she walked to Wura's closet.

"My Queen, which colour would you like to wear?" asked Nora as she looked through Wura's closet.

"Which colours am I not allowed to wear?" asked Wura as she sighed.

"Well my Queen, you cannot wear black, grey or any dark colours, and neither can you wear, red, blue, yellow, or other bright colours" said Nora as she looked at Wura.

"When then can I actually wear?" asked Wura as she knew that there would be what she could and could not wear.

"Hmm, well my Queen, you my wear Purple, as it is neither dark or bright, and Plum or mulberry" said Nora as she explained.

"Alright then, I prefer purple" said Wura.

"Alright my Queen" said Nora as she looked through the closet, the Queen was due for some new dresses.

"What are you going to wear Nora?" asked Wura as she looked at Nora.

"I will wear black my Queen, I will mourn like the people will" said Nora.

"I see" said Wura as suddenly a knock on the door startled her, as she was surprised, she did not think she was going to see anyone else today, since Lady Marli said that she would see her in the evening.

"I will get the door my Queen" said Nora as she smiled and she walked to the door and she opened it.

"Greetings my Lady" said Nora as she smiled and she bowed as soon as she saw who was at the door as she was surprised.

"Greetings" said Ireti as she smiled and Nora moved aside for Ireti to walk into the room.

"Mother??" asked Wura with wide eyes as she rubbed her eyes, she had heard her mother's voice, but she just thought that she was mistaking whoever was at the door for someone else.

"Wura" said Ireti as she smiled.

"Oh mother" said Wura as she jumped out of her bed as she rushed to hug her mother, which took Ireti by surprise as she almost lost her balance, Wura usually never hugged her like this, she would usually hug her father like that.

"Mother, I missed you" said Wura as she did not truly know how much she missed her parents, how much she wanted to see them, she felt like crying, but then her mother would ask her what was wrong, and then she would not be able to explain, so she could not cry, or at least not now.

"Are you sure Wura?" asked Ireti as Nora closed the door carefully so as not to interrupt the mother and daughter, and she went to stand in the corner.

"Did you do something wrong?" asked Ireti as she narrowed her eyes at Wura.

"You have not hugged me like that since you were a child" said Ireti as Wura only used to hug her like this when she was little and she did something bad.

"No Mother, not at all" said Wura as she stooped hugging her mother.

"I just really missed you, that is all" said Wura as she smiled.

"Hmm" said Ireti as she knew her daughter, and she knew when she was lying and hiding, but she would leave her be, most probably she would prefer to speak to her father.

"When did you arrive Mother?" asked Wura as she smiled.

"Not too long ago" said Ireti.

"Where is Father?" asked Wura.

"He is with his Majesty as we speak, to pay his respects" said Ireti.

"And where is Aunt Tessa and Uncle Richard?" asked Wura as she smiled.

"Well Tessa is getting heavier by the day, so she and Richard stayed back in the plains, she was advised not to move too much" said Ireti.

"Believe me when I say that she wanted to desperately to come and see you, but she just cannot risk it" said Ireti.

"Do not worry mother, I understand" said Wura as she smiled.

"How far long is my little cousin?" asked Wura as she smiled.

"She should be here in the next three months" said Ireti as she smiled, she was happy that she was soon going to be an Aunt.

"She is so close" said Wura as she smiled and Nora smiled as she quietly listened to the conversation between mother and daughter.

"Yes she is" said Ireti as she smiled.

"I missed you mother" said Wura as she hugged her mother once again as she broke their hug.

"How are you?" asked Ireti as she smiled at Wura.

"I am doing well mother" said Wura as she smiled, she had to assure her mother that she was alright, even if she was not.

"Are you sure?" asked Ireti.

"Yes Mother" said Wura as she nodded her head.

"And how are you mother?" asked Wura as she smiled.

"I am well" replied Ireti.

"Mother let us sit" said Wura as she smiled as she sat on her bed and Ireti sat beside her.

"Mother, is there something you want to tell me?" asked Wura as she smiled, she could see that her mother had something on her mind that she wanted to say.

The truth was, Ireti was worried about her daughter, with everything moving so quickly, one day she was a girl, the next a woman, the next a wife, and then a Princess, and now overnight she was Queen, it would make sense if Wura felt overwhelmed anyone would.

"If you need anything Wura, you can always come to me, you know that do you not?" asked Ireti.

"Yes I do mother" said Wura as she smiled, but there were just some things she could not tell her mother, not until she had finished settling them first.

"Alright" said Ireti.

"Yes mother" said Wura as she smiled and she hugged her mother again.
