Losing hope

Liam was deep in his own thoughts, he did not know just what about Wura called out to him, she was different, very different.

He did not know why he felt like he could trust her so much, even though they had only just met, maybe it was because their stories were very similar, they were both searching for their loves.

Liam also did not know why he felt the way he did when he heard Wura call him brother, there was nothing wrong with that at all, he was not sure if it was annoyance, jealousy or something else, but regardless, he was not focused on that, right now, he was only focused on reaching the first city to have all his questions answered, so he could regain all his memories, and find his wife.

Darla glanced at Liam briefly, she was still angry, she did not like that Lily and Liam went out together at all, she knew what Wura was trying to do, she could see it, she was not blind at all, it was obvious that she was interested in Liam, and well, she was not going to let her get close to Liam at all.

She did not know why Liam indulged her so much, he did not push Lily away, like he first pushed her away, it made her feel even worse, even more jealous.

Darla growled, she felt even more angry now thinking about how close Liam and Lily were becoming.

"Darla, are you alright?" asked Dothan as he looked at Darla as he heard her growl as she just looked at him and she snarled.

"Okay…" said Dothan as he knew not to disturb her where she was like this, so he said nothing more as they kept on riding.

Wura looked at the fire as she sighed, the sky was very dark, and as usual they had to stop, Wura was relieved that they did not seem to encounter any beasts like yesterday, because honestly they were terrified.

Wura looked up when she heard footsteps and she saw Mero walking towards her as he sat down beside her.

"Are you alright my Queen?" asked Mero as he could sense that Wura had something bothering her on her mind.

"No, I am not alright Mero" replied Wura simply as she looked at the fire.

"And why not my Queen?" asked Mero as he wondered if something happened in the market while she and Liam were together, or if she was still upset with the way Darla spoke to her earlier today.

"Because I feel terrible, I am loosing hope that Liam will recover all his memories" said Wura as she sighed, she was just so overwhelmed, she had not even started to try to make Liam remember his memories, and she was already tired.

"What makes you say so my Queen?" asked Mero as he was surprised, he knew that Wura was not one to be as negative as this, she believed with all her heart that they would find Liam, and they did, and now she also believed that he would recover his memories, but now she did not seem to think so, something had to have happened for her belief to change so quickly.

"When Liam and I went to the market, and he saw my pendant, or dare I rather say his mother's pendant" said Wura as she looked at Mero and she held her the heart of her pendant with her right hand.

"And he asked me where I got it from, he said that it looked familiar" said Wura.

"For a moment, my heart stopped in anticipation that he would remember it… that he would remember me… but he did not" said Wura as she looked at Liam who smiled as he and Malcom were talking at a distance away.

"But he did not… and it hurt me… he does not remember a single thing at all, his enchantment Is very strong, I do not know how I am supposed to break it, I feel so helpless… I am losing hope that he will actually recover them" said Wura as she sighed and she looked back at Mero.

"My Queen, you should not think that way at all, we have gotten this far, you have got us this far, with your determination and faith" said Mero.

"And I am sure that Is anyone that can make Liam remember his memories, it would be you my Queen, his wife, because he loves you" said Mero as he did not know what else to say to try to make Wura feel better.

"I know he does… he told me himself, but I feel so helpless, he is seeing another woman in his dreams, loving her, and not me" said Wura.

"My Queen, it is you that he loves, whoever he is seeing in his dreams is only an illusion, it Is you that he loves, you are his wife" said Mero.

"Oh Mero… it is just so hard, to see him every day, and yet he does not know me at all" said Wura as she sighed.

"My Queen, you should stop thinking about it that way, I am sure that soon he will remember you" said Mero.

"How soon Mero?" asked Wura.

"I cannot tell you my Queen, because I do not know myself, but soon, Is soon" said Mero as Wura sighed.

"My lady, your dinner" said Nora as she walked over to Wura with a bowl as Wura just looked at her.

"Take it away Nora, I am not hungry" said Wura as Nora looked sad, but she did not insist at all.

"Yes my lady" said Nora as she nodded her head and she walked away.

"My Queen, you really should eat more" said Mero.

"I do not want to" replied Wura.

"Mero, I bought myself a sword, when will you teach me?" asked Wura as she changed the subject and Mero sighed, he knew that she would never forget, he made her a promise, and he would keep it.

"We will not have enough time for me to train you properly my Queen, we are moving throughout the day, but maybe in the mornings before anyone else wakes up, I can train you a bit" said Mero.

"Alright Mero, fine, early tomorrow morning, we will train" said Wura.

"Yes my Queen" said Mero as he really hoped that Wura would not hurt herself.

"Good" said Wura as she nodded her head, she could not wait to get started with sword fighting in the morning, she was actually excited.

Wura yawned, she could not sleep well all throughout the night because she had been thinking so much about Liam and everything.

"My Queen, you did not rest well?" asked Mero as he looked at Wura as she yawned.

"I am fine Mero, let us get started" said Wura as she held her sword and Mero held his that he borrowed from Elihu.

"Good Morning" said Liam as he walked to where Mero and Wura were standing as he just woke up, and he saw them awake already.

"Good Morning Liam" said Wura as she looked at Liam and she smiled at him.

"Good Morning Liam" said Mero.

"What are you two doing?" asked Liam out of curiosity.

"Mero is going to teach me how to use a sword" said Wura as she smiled.

"I see" said Liam as he looked at Mero and Mero looked at him.

"Mero, can we start now?" asked Wura as Mero turned to look at her.

"Yes my lady" said Mero as he nodded his head.

"Do you mind if I watch?" asked Liam as Wura looked at him.

"No, not at all" said Wura as she smiled at him and Liam smiled back at her.

"My Queen, the most important thing to always remember when handling a sword, is that you must hold It correctly" said Mero as Wura nodded and she held her sword in her hand.

"Like this?" asked Wura as she held her sword.

"Like this" said Mero as he walked to Wura and he adjusted her grip as she felt her grip was more loose.

"You do not want to hold it too hard, you might strain yourself" said Mero as Wura nodded her head.

"And your stance as well" said Mero as he adjusted Wura stance.

"Alright can I fight now?" asked Wura as Liam could not help but chuckle as Mero sighed, he wondered how Liam dealt with her, she was too quick to jump into action.

"Be patient my lady, little by little" said Mero as he replied.

"But what is the good of having the perfect stance, or best grip when I cannot put it into action?" asked Wura.

"I believe that it is better to learn from experience, that was I can learn faster" said Wura as Liam had to give it to her, she was making sense here.

"My Lady, I do understand, but we are talking about swords here" said Mero.

"They are just like any other things, come on Mero, teach me something tangible, something that I can use in combat" said Wura as she knew that Mero wad going slowly on purpose, in the name of not allowing her to get hurt.

"My lady, patience" said Mero.

"I order you to teach me something tangible" said Wura as Mero sighed, she really was just too much.

"Alright my Queen, alright" said Mero as he had no other choice and he brought out his sword.

"The first thing that you need to learn is how to block an attack" said Mero as Wura nodded her head, now they were getting somewhere.

"An attack like this" said Mero as without warning he pulled out his sword to hit Wura and he stopped just before the blade could touch her at all as everything happened way too fast for Wura to be able to react.

"You see my lady, you were not ready" said Mero as he proved his point.

"No fair Mero, you did not tell me that you were going to attack" said Wura.

"I am not supposed to tell you my lady" said Mero.

"Alright fine, do it again, this time I will be ready" said Wura as Mero as he sighed and in the same moment he raised his sword to almost hit Wura again, but this time she expected it and she raised her own sword to counter it as their blades clashed.

"You see, I am not as delicate as you think Mero" said Wura as she smiled at him, that was not hard at all.

Liam chucked silently, Wura's confidence amused him, she really thought that blocking a very easy attack was something, but he did like her confidence.

"Mhmm right my lady" said Mero as he sighed, this was going to be a very long morning.
