Chapter 9

I woke up feeling tired and when I scanned the whole place. It was the desert land.

I'm here again and looks like I wasn't covered in any dust or sand. And the barren land is still the same. It's like the sand storm doesn't happen here.

I stand up and started walking again.

The place is still clear and without any things that can be seen except the land and the sky.

It's dreading me but I can't do anything, I can't stop, it'll just make this hardness further. I can't reach a mile if I'll stop now.

I encourage myself to walk and walk. The voice, I remember the voice. And in an instant I felt energized.

I plan to just walk. If I run, my energy will be consumed more.

I continue to walk and walk. No wind passed by and the sun is in the center sky and giving it's brightest rays.

If I'm correct, it'll be lunch time now. I stop and hold my tummy. I'm not hungry.

I just felt hot and thirsty but hungry, no.

I haven't eaten anything but until now, I don't feel even a bit of famished.

That's good, because if I'll be hungry now. It'll add ups to the sufferings that I'm facing now.

It'll be a bad combination, the needs in water and needs in food. My brain will give up on me for sure.

I continue to walk and walk. The barren land looks unending. And I have a feeling that it will be a long long long way to go.

I sigh and ofcourse continue to walk. I didn't notice the time, I don't want to count, it'll just make me sad because no matter how far I walk. The scenery doesn't change.

But another light of hope erupted on me when I was tripped in a stone.

It means a thing. I'm near on something, a place that will give me shade and let me rest.

Because desert doesn't have stones or rock. It is consisted of just sand, sand and sand.

I pick up the stone and jump lightly while putting the stone up in the air. I was smiling widely and that's when I noticed I look like crazy. Not that anyone will know, remember self, you were alone in this land.

My gaze turn at the far land to see how far it'll be. But I saw a figure. It was staring at me from a far.

I stared at it intently. It was a man, a very familiar structure of body.

"Where did I have seen that?"I asked to myself as I put my index finger at my chin, still staring at the figure.

Right, it's same at the silhouette of the man in that house. I thanked God for giving this opportunities at me. I'm blessed to be given hope and reason to continue this journey.

I walk towards the figure, but I wasn't abled to reach it. It was moving away from me. My eyes stare at the feet but it wasn't moving, he's floating.

Wait, what?.

No matter how hard I walk, I jog and I run. I can't go to where the figure is.

"Hey, you. Can you come here?!"I shouted. Maybe I can't go to him but he can go to me.

"Hey, can you go here?!", I repeated but it stood still like it doesn't hear anything.

Is my voice not loud enough?. I'm sure it will reach him, especially that it's quiet here. No sounds can interrupt the channel of the message.

"But, this is it. No giving up"I said and run towards the figure. It was moving away from me.

I speed up but still can't reach it's place. The distance doesn't shorten. It's the same as what I saw earlier.

I stop and take deep breaths. It was tiring. But I can't give up now, it's my chance of having a companion now. It a chance to not be lonely.

No man is an island.

He can help me figure out this place. We can brainstorm to know where is this place and how to go back at my house. My mom's waiting at me.

He's waiting too.

I turn my gaze at the figure and I sigh happily to see it's still there. Mental note to self, don't turn your eyes anywhere, there's a chance that the figure of that man vanish and self remember, being alone is not that nice.

"If you can't contain anything, shout and give it your all"whisper to me.

I nodded and temporarily closed my eyes.

"I don't know why I'm here. I don't know this place and why I'm not in my house. My mom and dad is waiting at me. They're worried at me. I want to go home"I shouted and inhaled. "I want to go home. I'm tired. I'm thirsty. I'm alone. I want to lay on the bed. I want to sip a juice. I want an ice. I even want a moon on the sky, not that freaking sun that makes my life harder"tears trickle down on my cheeks. I was gasping for air but in the side I was relieved to say everything.

It's like a big pain was lifted up to me.

When I stabled my breath. I stare at the figure again and ready myself.

"Okay self, ready and... run"I said and jog at where the figure is. Like what happens a while ago, it moves away from me. But it can't stop me.

I run and I saw a bit change from the space in between us.

I jumped happily. And stared at the spaced in between us. My shoulder slouched. It goes back at the way it was earlier.

Alright. Now, don't be distracted.

I jog slowly and run. Continue it for many times. And the space between us, changed. I can't see his face but his clothes we're a lot clearer now because I'm a bit near at him than earlier.

I stop and breath to fill my lungs. I need it to boost my energy, so that the space will be a lot smaller than it was a while ago.

"Time to walk for a bit"I said and started walking towards him.

I was confused when I saw that the figure doesn't move. I run but it moves away at me.

I tried walking again and it doesn't move.

"What?.", It wasn't like this a while ago. Anyway, I walked carefully. Bits of step, but surely.

Almost, near at him. I can see his face any moment now.

A bit of walk and I can see it already but I was distracted when I felt a sudden movements from my back.

I want to see his face badly but the movements on my back, I can't ignore it.

Ofcourse, I can ignore but I'm not familiar in this place. I don't know if a creature like in that house will appear again. No matter how hard I want to see his face, I turn around and see the reason of movements on my back.

The barren land is nowhere.

It was replaced by a big door. A big double door, and nothing else. I tried going in the other to see it in a whole.

My forehead creased when I finished circling the door. It was just a double door in the desert land. It was like placed in this land and nothing else.

I turn my gaze at the figure and it was far enough at me again. I sigh and face the front of the door.

There was a circle things in it's knob. Looks like it can opened. But isn't that weird. The door will just revealed the other side which is the barren land too. What's the sense?.

I tried to knock and opened it. But it doesn't moved and no one answer me.

I was walking back and forth to check every side of the door until I heard foosteps.
