Chapter 2

Blaine was currently in the library, being a person who loved to read.

He had brown hair that was curved to the side. He usually wore a regular black long-sleeve shirt and some jeans, but usually a white cape would surround him.

There were four sections of books, and he'd go to the history books, to see what type of memoir of things happened back then.

As he was searching around, he heard someone come into the library, stopping him cold.

"Hello, Blaine."

It was Kade, his—technically—younger brother, who usually wore a solid-color shirt, with khaki pants. "Hello Kade," Blaine responded, walking towards him.

"So what are you searching for?"

"Just trying to read another book," Blaine said. Kade snickered. "You're already trying to learn how to become a king."

Blaine sighed. He's always been very cross about him not getting the throne, and he would always pursue and annoy him countless times, although he was desensitized to it.

"Is it bad to search up the history of this great kingdom?" Blaine asked honestly.

"A kingdom I should rule," Kade said. "By an hour, you suddenly get the throne. Sure, I may not be the smartest compared to you, but everyone knows I'm the brawn of the team."

"What team?"

"The Micah administration, of course," Kade said. "And you next to be king. I assure you, fate will make me king either way."

Blaine was almost boiling in anger, but he kept his cool.

Usually he'd shrug this off, and keep his anger to himself. And he was going to do that exact same thing. He returned back to rooting for books, and Kade scoffed, letting out a little laugh.

"Anyways, I was told by Mom to let you know that Dad went to go to some meeting."

"Good to know," Blaine returned stiffly.

He heard his swift footsteps that were walking out the door, and also the door slamming hard.

What was he going to do? Usually Dad would tell how he and his brother were such good friends, and all the adventures they went through.

From being in an orphanage, to being trapped by the ruthless Ikes.

And many times they were caught in battles, and were training for the Heather Eye.

Blaine knew that he was the next holder of the Heather Eye as well as Kade. Although Jaxon and Anne were the most powerful, he was at least somewhat honored to hold at least some of it.

He found a book that seemed to catch his eye. It was a white book by the side that said: Origin: Heather Eye.

He picked it up and saw that it was from a person named Michael Vicks, and he knew exactly who he was. He was the person that helped Peter and Micah by creating the Heather Eye, or perhaps it was made before then.

He was old now, probably in his fifties or so, but he was still experimenting things back at the Passageway Building, although he didn't know where it was. They moved the location to where no one knew, except the employees themselves.

He opened the book and started reading, sitting down on the floor by the shelf and taking some time to himself.

They arrived at the Elimor HQ, which was a big building with a spiral over five hundred feet high, so high everyone could see it.

Soldiers rushed out of every single door, preparing for the king's entrance. They had swords and shields, including guns to protect the king in case anything ever happened.

The limo moved towards a parking area, where it was sealed once it came in.

There were a bunch of other cars that were parked, but there was one specific spot that was saved for the king.

The limo parked right there, and they got out.

Peter and Micah walked over to an elevator that was right beside the wall. They walked in, and pressed the downward button.

There were numbers on the elevator, but they knew a secret of where it was. Most of it was an apartment for people who were living in the palace city, but not inside a house.

But that the very bottom was the board, and they made sure to keep it a secret.

Once they arrived, they opened the green door in front of them, and what it contained was a room with a big table, with multiple chairs for different people.

Iris wasn't here, because she was busy taking care of other things, but from all their faces—it seemed bad.

"Hello, your majesty," one of them, who had white hair said.

He also had a black suit, with a red tie. Mostly everyone wore the same thing with different ties.

"Hello, Mr. Rockman," he said. "How's the children doing?" Micah asked, while taking the seat that was at the end of the table.

"The children are fine, they're just in school sir," he said. "Now, we were here to discuss some interesting reactions happening."

The mood changed considerably, it worried Peter, who was sitting by Micah. What reactions?

"What reactions?" Micah asked, repeating literally every word that was spoken in Peter's head.

Someone else started talking before Mr. Rockman could open his mouth.

It was Dr. Holdenburn, one of the scientists who worked with Dr. Vicks some time ago, before he recently retired.

"Let me show you," he said, getting the remote control that was faced exactly in the middle of the long, wooden table.

He pressed one of the buttons, showing a virtual-like representation of one of the kingdoms that everyone knew.

There was a big statue about a hundred feet tall, showing a soldier with a very long sword that touched the rim of a clock.

"What reaction is going on inside the kingdom of Syndromane?" Micah asked. "They haven't studied any experiments since five years ago."

"Or we thought so," said Dr. Holdenburn. "One of these reactions caused an earthquake a few weeks ago, and someone said that it was like the ground had a beating heart."

It stayed quiet for a moment.

"So, have you found any leads?" Micah asked, keenly interested.

The doctor returned, "Yes, your majesty. They found certain movements like pulses under a citizen's house, which was right by the hill that blocked their view of seeing the Kelekites."

"So, what do you plan on doing?"

"We're going to move the pedestrians out, put them outside while we search inside the house to see any leads," Mr. Rockman assured. "Maybe it's not too much to worry about."

"Let's hope so," Peter said, looking around. "We need to make sure nothing happens to this kingdom." "Well what if something happens to the kingdom?" one of the board members asked.

"Then we have war," Mr. Rockman said. Micah's eyes widened. "War?" he muttered silently, and he looked at everyone with concerned eyes. "There will be no war happening as long as I'm king."

"What do you mean by war?" Peter wondered, scratching his head bewilderedly.

"Now, here's what I want—I want men, myself and my brother to get there. If something happens, you help them as much as you can."

It was three o' clock, the second run of classes to take. Iris was back home once again, although no one was sure what she was doing when she was gone, but at least she was back.

The classes were in a whole other building that was right by the castle. But they were stationed inside room 432, the place where they met with none other than Caville.

She worked with Micah and Peter during the Great War of the Ikes and the Heathers, and someone she loved died in one of the battles, and she was always bitter about it.

She was very harsh to Micah's kids, mainly because she knew what they could hold, and she was making sure to train them up to that moment.

They were outside this time, in this area that was surrounded by big trees.

There were multiple soldiers training there, including Jaxon and Anne, who seemed to be waiting specifically for Kade and Blaine.

Blaine predicted this because they quickly rushed over to them with smiling faces. "Hey Blaine," Anne said, coming in with a hug.

Jaxon and Kade didn't hug, but greeted each other with a very creative handshake.

"How was your day so far?" Anne asked. Blaine shrugged, "Not too much happened, just reading in the library again."

"How are you sure you haven't read almost all those history books?" Jaxon asked. "Most of them are mostly just the same."

"Not really, different information can also affect some parts of history," Blaine said.

"What'd I expect from a future king," Kade scoffed, being returned with a cross look.

"Anyways, so what do you think we're doing today?" Jaxon asked.
