The Devastator

The dead of night was the perfect cover for 'The Devastator' to sneak up on their target. Silvio peered into his eye apparatus, forged by an Elarian dwarf that he was able to loot from one of his raids many years ago, the night vision monoscope had long since been a trusty partner in premeditating his crimes.

Through its lens of pure black and white, Silvio could clearly make out the features of a human, tiefling, and…is that a mermaid on a wheelchair?

With an ominous grin, Silvio returned the monoscope back inside his gauche brown coat. A coat that befitted his rugged appearance along with his wavy long, black, and grimy hair.

"What do 'ye see Capt'n?"

In contrast with Silvio's gruff demeanor, the woman behind him that asked wore a skimpy woven skirt and a torn sleeveless white blouse, topping her outfit with a red bandana to cover her short white hair. Crimson Fin's beauteous appearance was not fit to be a scourge of the seas, sailing the high seas in a ship filled with ne'er-do-wells. But the secret to her might, why she commanded respect lies in the light azure tint of her skin. A might that elevated Crimson Fin as Silvio's first mate.

"I see three corpses on their deck." Looks like there is nothing to worry about this 'Queen Ysbeil' that gave other pirates a heap of trouble. Silvio's 137 strong pirate crew can no doubt make quick work of them, and with the darkness as their cover, they'll be sleeping with the fishes before they could raise the alarm and gather their wits.

Silvio turned around to address the assembled raiding party with his rough pirate accent, all equally as hungry as their captain for loot, all equally eager to snuff out lives inside the Queen Ysbeil. The captain unsheathed his cutlass and raised it as if it was a banner, "Look alive lads! Tonight we shall take the 'Queen Ysbeil' as our prize!" From high up, Silvio then pointed his cutlass to their target, directing the crew's avaricious malice at their target ship. "Leave none alive, 'Yer Capt'n demands it!"

In the spirit of scalawag camaraderie, the pirates all raised their cutlasses in accordance and shouted at the top of their lungs.

It didn't take long for the two ships to come head to head with each other. Before the people inside Queen Ysbeil could warn the rest of their crew, Silvio had begun their assault.

The pirates used the ropes tied to their sails above, swinging as if they were vines. 10 of the men composed of orcs, goblins, and humans all landed behind the 3 on the deck, barring their exit and any hopes for them to alert any soul below the deck.

As the trio was wary of the goons' attack, their numbers increased as Silvio kept on commanding his raiding party to swing. 10 became 20, all until 30 had surrounded their prey, like a pack of hungry hyenas, the pirate's lips were all arced in a mocking grin as they inched closer and closer until they had slaughtered their prey. But were they, really? The human appeared to be scared to death, as he should, but the other two defiantly stood their ground, they were relaxed even, almost as if they welcomed the thrill.

One of the shirtless orc charged forth with his cutlass raised high, only for the tiefling to catch it and twist the orc's arm, disarming him and letting his cutlass fall to the floor. And since they were at the deck's bow, the tiefling decided to warmly welcome the orc pirate, by kicking his bum into the cold night sea below.

The orc screamed before plunging into the dark sea with a splash.

Bow to bow, Silvio chuckled as he watched the action, the lass can fight. A shame she's going to be put down, for however strong she was, his crew had the numbers.

"MEEEEEN!" Silvio cried, calling for his men's attention. "Make corpses of 'em quickly or ye'll have brine to drink instead of rum!"

Silvio's cry was to strike fear into the hearts of the three and to embolden his men at the same time. Surely it had gathered the necessary momentum for all 29 of them to run them over?

Silvio's brow arched, why is it that instead of cowering, the tiefling picked up the cutlass and even pointed it towards his oncoming crew? Is she planning to fight all of them? Silvio snortled, the lass might just be suicidal, ain't no way she's going to take on all of his men alone.

But what Silvio had failed to count into the equation was the mermaid, they were aware of how to counter it, a shallow cut on their skin and drops of citrus on the wound should keep the lulling voice away. Its avenue of attack won't be to enchant the boarding party, however.

Silvio's eyes widened in surprise as he saw two small cannons protrude from the back of the mermaid's chair. Its barrel glowed an intense white, portending the fate of what those hit by it will succumb to. The cannon shot forth its runes, ending with a glacial explosion that turned 10 of his men into statues of ice, their wicked smiles now frozen until they had been inevitably thawed.

"What in the blazes!?" Did a mermaid just fucking blast his crew with an ice rune!? Alright, that about does it, the captain's patience had been tried. Fuck stealth, and fuck taking the Queen Ysbeil as their prize. "Men! Prepare the cannons!" Silvio's attention turned to his first mate, "Fin! Board the ship and loot as many as 'ye can before we start blasting holes into their ship! If anyone gets in 'yer way…kill 'em."

" 'Aye 'aye, Capt'n." The captain's words were sweet music to Fin's ears, the ruthless smile she suddenly harbored revealed rows of pointy teeth.

The captain went on his way to the helm to readjust the ships position so they could blow the Queen Ysbeil to kingdom come. Meanwhile, Fin had no use for their boarding swings for she had a more apt method. She gracefully jumped into the black waters below to carry out his captain's orders.

A terrifying 8 foot tall ocean predator emerged from the waters and landed straight into the Queen Ysbeil's deck. The only weapons she needed were her powerful claws, jaws that could devour a person's head in one fell bite, couple those with her monstrous strength and Fin believed that no person in the ship would be able to stop her bloody carnage. A great white on legs, such were the qualities of a wereshark.

As much as Fin wanted to join the festivities at the bow, tear the tiefling to shreds, she had a job to do. She immediately headed below the deck, she opened the hatch door to find herself staring at a gorgeous woman with long dark hair and hazel skin, wearing a turtleneck top. Aside from her stunning looks, there was something odd about the woman who harbored no fear in her eyes, Fin felt as if the woman was kin. It couldn't be, there's no shark clan around these parts of the sea harbored her bewitching hazel features.

Alas, Fin had a job to do, she raised her fist in plans of knocking the woman out. The captain could have all the gold and trinkets, Fin had already found her prize.
