Headless chicken

"He just left the police station," Iyare received the news over the phone. Charles has used his connection to seal the information of his visit to the police station. Iyare knew he would do that.

"Did you get all the pictures?" Iyare asked the person on the other line. "Yes, I did. I am proceeding to get the other pieces of evidence," the person over the phone informed her before hanging up the call.

"Shelley, help organise a detective to follow Charles and get evidence of his relationship with Cece. The news will really be epic," Iyare could imagine Charles's picture on the screen while the reporter read the news about him being a suspect in the murder of his lover.

Iyare's lips curved into a smile; her plan was working perfectly. Few minutes before Charles arrived at the motel. She and Sam disguise themselves to sneak into Cece's body. At the same time, Shelley dressed up as Cece to check into the hotel. Shelley and Cece had the same high and body size, so it was easy for her to pass off as Cece as long as the camera did not capture her face, which Abel ensured.

They have staged a good drama since a few of the staff saw Cece (Shelley) walk out of the mansion

The blood on the floor was definitely not from Cece's. Shelley had contacted her doctor friend to help her with the blood from the hospital blood bank.

Like Iyare predicted, the police did not bother testing the blood beside a dead woman. She knew they would conclude it belonged to Cece.

Iyare planned to release the news to Ona's group's biggest rival. She knew they would publish the information once they had verified it.

Apart from the board members of Ona's group, no one else in the business circle knew that Charles was not going to be the next president of the company.

So they will definitely try to attack Charles. It was Shelley's idea to release the news. Iyare agreed because she knew reputation was everything in the business circle. If Charles's reputation got ruined, no board member would dare vote him as their next president.

Not that their votes mattered, but she felt like unmasking him. She had no plans of killing Charles. That will be too merciful. She would let him live so that she could torture him slowly. She wanted him to experience the pain of lowliness, like the one she experienced for the past 25 years of her life. She was going to make him lose everything. His reputation was only the beginning.

Iyare smiled at herself for coming up with such a brilliant plan. "You look happy," Iyare heard Louis's voice.

She took a deep breath to calm herself down. "You scared me," Iyare complied. Can't he learn how to knock on the door, she wondered to herself.

"I like scaring people," Louis answered with his usual smirk. Iyare fought the urge to roll her eyes at him, so she did it mentally.

"I saw that?" Louis said. Her antics did not so border him. "Oh," she whispered; she had forgotten he could read her mind.

"Would you keep dropping in on me like?" this Iyare changed the topic.

"No, I have better things to do with my time. I just came to congratulate you for successful sealing the deal," Louis replied.

Iyare nodded her head. "I thought you said once I took the deal, nothing will possess me anymore; what happened in the torture room earlier?" Iyare asked

She did not mind whatever possessed her because if it did not, she would be unable to kill someone. She only asked to get Clarification.

"Your demon," Louis answered.

"What do you me, my demon? I don't have that. I mean, how did I get a demon?" she questioned.

"Everyone has their demon, and yours is angry, and you are just meeting her," Louis explained.

Iyare nodded her head. She never got angry easily, but once she was angry, she could not control herself. She loses control of every rational emotion.

"Miss Iyare," Sam's voice was heard behind the door. "Yes," Iyare answered.

"Josephine is awake," Sam informed her.

"I will join you shortly," Iyare said and looked back at Louis. "Go do what you must; if you don't want me to drop on you, don't miss your sacrifice," he instructed. "Here," Louis handed her a book.

Iyare collected it and waited for Louis to explain. "If you need my help to get your revenge, tap on it twice. I will come to see you as soon as I can. The book contains all the information you need about your enemy. Of course, you have to gather the evidence yourself. To open the book, you must drop your blood on it," Louis explained.

"So all the information here is about Charles?" Iyare asked.

"No, Charles and anyone enemies you have now or in the future. It is like your guide to a certain victory. Dropping your blood on it is the ritual to open it. Do you understand?" Louis asked.

Iyare nodded her head and put the book away in her closet.

....

"I have a deal for you," Iyare told Josephine, who was sitting across the table. Josephine nodded her head.

"The police should be here tomorrow or any moment from now. You would be allowed to see them. You are free to answer all their questions any way you please, but you cannot mention how Cece died. In fact, you never saw anything," Iyare emphasises the last part. Josephine nodded; she was scared of the lady sitting opposite her.

"If you do a good job convincing the police, I will let you live if you try to play smart with me. You will join Cece, and I promise it will be slow and painful," Iyare threaten in a light tone.

Josephine nodded her head; she knew what needed to be done. She saw how Iyare murdered Cece like it was nothing.

She had already heard the maid talking about Cece going out since morning but yet to return. Iyare had evidence that she tried to poison her, even if she told the police the truth. Iyare would simply claim that she wanted to frame her. She could still remember the story Iyare told before she stabbed Cece.

Iyare looked very soft and delicate; no one would believe she could kill in cold blood. Josephine sighed and returned to her. 'Looks can be deceiving,' she thought.

The Dark realm.

"You lied to her," a man dressed in a white suit said, looking at Louis, who was seated comfortably.

"I am a lair, remember?" Louis did not look at the man talking to him. One could tell that he was familiar with the man on white.

"I know that, but this is supposed to be a fair bet," the man on white replied.

"Fair?" Louis chuckled as though he had just heard a joke. "From the moment the bet was set, there was no fairness," he said when he stopped laughing.

The man in white was not angry seeing his behaviour; from his expression, it was clear he expected such a reaction. "Louis, have you lied so much that you can't differentiate between true and false?" He questioned.

" Don't try to talk in a circle, Felix, oh God of Fate, I know you all are supporting Gabriel, the god of love, so tell me, what fairness are you talking about?" Louis looked at the man; it was clear from his gaze that he hated the man.

"You are justifying your actions again; we all promised to stay out of this. This is between you and Gabriel," Felix defended.

"Yet, you are here running around for him," Louis sneered; he hated the god of love the most, and he could not wait to destroy him.

"I am here on my own accord," Felix replied. Louis could see he was telling the truth. "Whatever, Gabriel should have known that I would play dirty the moment he agreed to my bet," Louis said.

Felix looked at Louis and shook his head, "since you played dirty, the will of fate has been broken; I would have to make a move," he said.

"Oh, is this what you are here to say? Is Gabriel finally scared? If you make a move, then how are you different from me? I thought you were an honourable god that kept his words," Louis started; one could tell from his tone that he was mocking Felix.

Felix was angry at his words, "fine; I will not interfere, lest you say Gabriel cheated. Get ready to lose half your kingdom when you lose," he said and disappeared.

*Haha, Louis was in a good mood. "They are scared, it is only the beginning, but they are already running around like headless chickens," he smiled.
