Charles was sitting down quietly in his office late in the afternoon. After thinking of the senator's advice, he decided not to do anything for now and wait for the case to be taken to court. It's not like he has another choice. The evidence against him was already in the hands of the police.
His lawyers were already preparing for the case. He also employed a private detective to carry out an investigation. He already found out that Roy's group were the one that released the news to the media, but there was nothing he could do; without the sit of the president of the Ona group, he could not go against Roy's group.
He curses his luck. 'I really need to do something fast to take back that chair,' he murmurs to himself. 'maybe I should create a problem for her so that everyone will learn about her incompetence. But those stupid board members are indeed useless. They could never force her to leave the sit,' This realisation annoyed Charles. He knew he would become nothing if he ruined Ona's group. So he needed to create a problem he could quickly solve. Besides, he could also not cause a big problem Roy group, or any other company could take advantage of.
He decided to create an internal problem. He was unsure what to do, but he believed he would figure something out soon. 'Maybe I will use this as an opportunity to get some of Iyare's shares,' he thought. This idea sounded so good to him that a small smile could be seen on the corner of his lips. This smile became brighter when he saw his phone ringing.
His senator friend was the one calling. He was so happy seeing this call. He hoped the senator found a way to help him out of the situation.
"Charles," the senator's voice came from the other end.
"Did you find a way to help?" Charles immediately asked excitedly.
"No, I am sorry, but my source just informed me that an arrest warrant is currently being prepared for you," The senator informed him.
Charles felt like someone was choking him when he heard this.
An arrest warrant? So soon? Who could be messing up with him like this? Did I offend someone without knowing? Thousands of questions went through his mind.
"How is that possible? They can't even prove I did it," Charles queried when he found his voice.
The senator then informs him of Justin's visit to the police station.
Ah! Charles exclaimed with frowned brows. How could Cece prepare something like this? That woman is indeed cunning; Charles cursed his luck.
"I will try to delay the process for two hours. I suggest you use that time to figure out your next move," the senator said and hung up the call.
The Senator sighed after hanging up the call. If not for the fact that Charles would be the next president of Ona's group, he would never bother helping him.
Besides, he could use this new secret to blackmail him in the future. The senator's lips curved into a mischievous smirk thinking of this.
On the other hand, after Charles received this call, he immediately called his assistant and asked him to prepare the car. He decided to go to his secret Villa to think things through.
He cursed his luck as he stepped into the elevator. He could not help but wonder if Mr Onasa's spirit was hunting him.
Ha....that could be possible; maybe the spirit of his late friend is seeking revenge. 'Why did I even try to poison Iyare?' he asked.
He has heard stories where the dead hunt those responsible for their death, especially if the person tries to hurt someone they love.
Stupid, another curse escapes his mouth. He should not have tried to hurt Iyare; he scolded himself. He became certain that the Roy group did not set him up. It was someone else. The person was also responsible for leaking the news to the Roy group.
Thinking of this, Charles felt his body temperature rise with goosebumps all over his body. Is Onasa really trying to revenge? He felt fear embrace him.
'Wait, what am I thinking,' he suddenly asked himself, shaking his head. The dead do not seek revenge; how could he think of something so stupid, he wondered.
'The dead do not have business with the living,' he comforted himself. 'All this is because of that cunning woman's arrangement. But who murdered her and set me up,' he asked himself.
In between his thoughts, Charles arrived at the car park, where his driver was already waiting.
What was he going to do now? He had just two hours to come up with a plan. Running away was definitely not an option. There was no way he would be a fugitive running away from the police.
He could also not let the world know that he murdered his boss and best friend. He needed to do something fast.
He was so engrossed in his thought that he did not notice when they got to his Vila.
"We are here, Boss," the driver informed him while holding the door open for him.
Charles nodded his head and got off the car. He frowned when he heard the loud music coming from inside the house.
"That useless son of mine is here when I need peace and quite the most. How can someone play music this loud, especially when his family is in crisis? Is that young man celebrating my misfortune,' he asked himself.
When he got into the sitting room, the sight that welcomed him made his jaw drop. His son was in the company of a lady. They were doing it right there in the sitting room, shamelessly. And they were both mourning loudly. It was thanks to the music that those outsides could not hear them. Could this son of his not use the room? Charles wondered. He could smell the strong smell of alcohol.
'Ah, my late wife caused this by Pampering this idiot I have as a son.' it was not only his wife's fault; they all doted on their son, especially after the death of his younger brother.
"Why did I get a useless son?' Charles asked himself. Other sons should be concerned and trying to help their father, but his son is here having fun as if...
"Dad," Adrian caught into his Dad train of thought, and he quickly stopped the music.
Charles looked at his son. He should have gotten into an argument with his son if he had walked into something like this any other time, but he had other things to worry about now.
The lady with Adrian got up and excused herself from the father and son. If looks could kill, Adrian should have taken his last breath with how his Dad stared at him.
"I am sorry about what you saw earlier; I did not know you would be coming here," Adrian apologised. He did not even sound drunk. Charles was aware of his son's tolerance for alcohol.
Charles shook his head; he could not blame his son. He and his wife spoiled him.
"What kind of a son behaves like this when his father is going through a crisis?" Charles could not help but voice this out.
"Dad, relax. I know you will sort the case with Cece; besides, she is only a maid, with nobody as her backing. It would be best if you celebrate your freedom from her," Adrian countered.
Charles's mouth hung open; he must have offered the gods for them to give him a son like this.
"What you should worry about is how we can get back my inheritance from that thief. I have a plan, but I will need your help,'' Adrian said.
Charles gave a weary smile before sitting down. His son was intelligent when he decided to put his mind to some things. He was good at scheming against others.
"I heard about the board meeting today, and honestly, I think our first step is to get at least fifteen percent of her shares," Adrian commented.
Charles knew this, but how to get these shares was the problem. "I plan to create a problem for the company, then recuse it in exchange for 5 percent of her Shares," Adrian explained.
"That is a great idea, but tell me, son, what kind of problem do you intend to create. You know we can not create any big problem that our rival could take advantage of," Charles commented.
"Don't worry, Dad, it is just a within company something that will affect the IT department and, in turn, cost a few losses in business transactions," Adrian explained.
"Details?" Charles asked, becoming interested in his son's plans.
"I will send a virus to all the computers in the finance department. When this happens, the IT department will try to solve the situation; of course, I will be with my system, making it impossible for them to succeed. Then that thief will become desperate, and I will offer my services.
Of course, this will work perfectly as she would not want to let our rivals know that the company was facing any problem," Adrian explained.
"That's a brilliant plan," Charles commended his son while smiling from ear to ear. "But I want you to change a little part of that plan," Charles said.
Adrian looked at his father, waiting for him to tell him which part of the plan needed changing.
"Five percent is too much a fee to ask for solving that problem. We both know she will easily get someone else to do it. The IT department has a lot of connections. Besides, Iyare is not a pushover like you think. My first mistake was underestimating her; now, she is guided against me.
Once we mention the shares, she will know our plans. So why not woo her instead," Charles said.
