Giant Mechanical Robot

After checking through the rest of his system's functions like Shop and Map, Horu and Sion proceeded to store away all of their valuables including the damaged mobile teleporter into Horu's Inventory.

They then agreed on a direction before they started flying there. Walking was too mortal for them so they decided to fly to save time. It's an apocalyptic cultivation world, a world where cultivators exist but it was also a world where cultivators banded together to fight for their race's survival. Greed and betrayal has no place here. Upon realizing this truth, the two wanted to make the most out of this adventure no matter what.

It took Horu and Sion 2 months to fly through the entire scorching desert before the two finally made it to a grassy plain littered with broken ruins and skeletons everywhere.

"Alright! We finally made it into a civilization!" Sion fist bumped the air in excitement. Although he was dead and couldn't feel heat or cold, the sunlight from the green sun constantly made him tired. Seeing sand and cacti as far as the eye could see did not help with Sion's problem either.

"Now that we have a change of scenery, why don't we just float around till the next biome? " Horu proposed.

Which Sion agreed, "Yeah sure, why not?"

1 year later...

"Hey Horu, how come we haven't seen anybody for the past year in these plains? Didn't you say you sensed the life auras of multiple humanoid beings last month? Where are they?" After wandering through the grassy wasteland of concrete ruins and abandoned roads for an entire year, Horu and Sion have yet to actually meet a single inhabitant of this world.

"Didn't we find that out later on? Those life auras belonged to mutants." Horu replied.

"There's no bugs or animals either, what's up with that?" [Sion]

"It's an apocalyptic world, I'm sure they've all either mutated into demonic beasts or have all died due to other reasons. But that's fine too, it just means that there are secrets and mysteries we can take our time to uncover."

"Speaking of which, what do you think about the mutants we saw this past year?" [Sion]

"The mutants? What about them?" [Horu]

"Like when they tried to ambush us in the supermarket district, didn't you find it odd that those mutants were highly organized in their attacks? Despite having the strength of Foundation Establishment realm cultivators and instincts of beasts, those mutants knew how to fight as a team." [Sion]

"Hm...now that you mention it, it is a bit odd..." [Horu]

"They weren't just odd, those mutants were smart...smarter than most mutants I've seen back in our continent." [Sion]

"Heh, they may be smart enough to fight as a pack, but they all ran the moment one of their kind died by my hands. Just a wave of my hand was enough to turn the mutant with an octopus arm into bloody mist. He didn't even have a chance to scream before he died." [Horu]

"Yeah, those mutants were smart enough to retreat when facing danger too. When you were in the city's gym finding parts to fix our mobile teleporter, I devoured the souls of several mutants but was unable to finish them all off before one of the mutants threw a holy hand grenade at me. But thanks to my lightning speed reflexes, I used the soulless mutant corpses to shield me from the blast."

"A holy hand grenade? From the worm game? Are the mutants of this world smart enough to create firearms already?" [Horu]

"Beats me, I just know that after throwing the holy hand grenade at me, the surviving mutants all escaped with mysterious movement techniques. Wait...mysterious movement techniques?" Silence ensued after Sion finished his thoughts, his eyes soon contracting afterwards.

"Did you think of something?" Seeing the inner flame of the ghost's purple flame eyes contract noticeably, Horu knew that Sion had understood something.

"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit...Oh shit!" Sion clutched his head as he suddenly thought of something.

"Oi! What's wrong?" [Horu]

"Those mutants weren't real mutants! Those mutants were the survivors of this apocalyptic world! Fuck, we were too dumb to notice! And we already ended the lives of at least 3000 disguised mutants...fuck!"

"Uhm...what evidence do you have that led you to this conclusion?" Horu, who was still confused by Sion's conclusion, asked. I mean, Horu did indeed find that the mutants he and Sion met in this world were different, but to what extent, Horu just couldn't put his finger on it.

Furthermore, if Horu were to recall the various mutants they had seen this past year, each mutant had their own fighting style and abilities. One mutant had let out a long lion roar before the mutant transformed into a twin-horned flame lion.

Horu had deliberately let the mutant finish its transformation so that he could marvel at its lion form. But when the lion mutant tried to pounce on him, the lion mutant was crushed into minced meat with a simple grasping gesture from Horu.

Another time was when 5 mutants of different colors glowed brightly before having their bodies fuse together into a giant mechanical robot wielding a long red saber. With every step the giant mechanical robot took, the earth cracked underneath while the ruins around them trembled.
