Predator And Prey (Ch.7)

Kelevi breathed a sigh of relief as the chilling cold breeze washed away the pungent scents from the club even as he stepped out through the back exit.

Kelevi sighed as he heard the scream of a female coming from up ahead.

Kelevi glanced to the side, the streets were lonely, the loud music from the club completely overpowered any signs of struggles.

Kelevi glanced up at the dark clouds, he knew it was going to rain soon, at the perfect timing too to wash away whatever evidence of crime was left behind.

'Truly a good day.' Kelevi thought to himself,

A good day for another underage girl to fall victim to a dark hearted man, and a perfectly good day for an immoral human to fall victim to creatures of the night.

Kelevi walked down to the dark alleyway opposite the club,

He stepped into the darkness, not surprised to see the underage female struggling against the young male as he tried to rip open her clothing.

Kelevi frowned in distaste, he always detested scenes like this, there was no honor in preying on the weak and vulnerable and there was certainly no pleasure in it, not to Kelevi at least.

If he was going to take a woman, Kelevi would rather she was warm, willing and even pleading to be ravished by him.

Kelevi guessed he would just have to give this immoral human a taste of his own medicine, to let him understand what it meant to be a weak prey helpless before a predator.

Kelevi's nose twitched, in the course of the struggle, the under age female's fingernails had torn into the skin of the immoral man, drawing blood.

"You bitch!" The young man screeched, noticing his own injury only a moment after Kelevi had.

Kelevi tilted his head to the side, he could not tell if it was by sheer luck, but this female had encountered him tonight, if he had not already planned to get involved initially,

Now that she had triggered his blood haze and he had gotten a whiff of a certain blood, the hunt had already begun.

Kelevi felt his fangs elongate, his claws extended and his gaze darkened, taking on a red hue,

All his senses were heightened, he could feel, see and hear even the vibration of the wind and sound waves as his gaze zoned in on the target of the hunt.

His lips curled back in a predatory snarl, and just at that moment, lightning pierced through the sky and a violent clap of thunder could be heard.

However the prey had finally sensed Kelevi's presence and lifted his gaze up to him.

"Beat it man! This ain't got nothing to do with you!" The prey snapped fiercely,

He had clearly consumed his fair portion of alcohol and was not clear headed enough to notice Kelevi's strange and glaringly inhuman features.

Kelevi tilted his head to the side, taking a slow step forward.

"If you want some, you can have your turn after I'm done." The prey offered, believing Kelevi's approach was a sign of interest which only heightened Kelevi's disgust.

"It's not her I want... it's you." Kelevi said in a low, inhuman hiss.

"The f*ck man?!" I ain't no fag!" The prey exclaimed,

Kelevi ignored the words of the prey and took another step forward.

"This piece of shit needs to be busted up, don't you now?!" The prey snapped furiously,

"Well...you can try..." Kelevi said as he took another step forward.

It was at this point that the prey finally noticed the first distinct feature, a pair of red glowing eyes.

Kelevi watched the eyes of the prey trail down, blinking repeatedly as if uncertain if he was seeing things, however the moment his eyes settled on Kelevi's extended claws, something finally clicked.

The prey's eyes widened as he jerked backwards, a scream of pure terror escaping his lips.

However just as Kelevi expected, drops of rain had already began pelting down at great speed and the sound of thunder covered up every other sound, even that of a scream of terror.

The underage female who had been held upright by the weight of the prey collapsed to the ground in a drunken haze.

"What...what are you?" The prey stuttered out as he took slow, cautious step backwards, stumbling over his own feet as he retreated.

Kelevi smirked at the question, if only the prey knew just what he was.

"Wouldn't you like to know..." Kelevi hissed, his fangs exposed even more clearly much to the horror of the prey.

"D... don't kill me... I have a family..." The prey began pleading as he stumbled backwards, it was the expected mantra to seek sympathy.

If only the prey knew he would find none, there was no sympathy in the cold heart of the undead.

"Shhh...just run." Kelevi advised and much to Kelevi's amusement, the prey did run, as fast as his unsteady foot could carry him.

Kelevi watched him quietly for a moment before he turned his attention over to the underage female.

He walked up to her, leaning down, he lifted her gaze up to his, watching as her pupils dilated in a haze when she stared straight into his eyes.

"Now...you will forget of all that happened tonight, you will make your way home and you will not stop walking till you are safely at your home...if anyone tries to harm you halfway, you kill them... understood?" Kelevi asked in a lazy drawl, the ancient magic of compel pouring out through his eyes.

The underage female nodded once and rose to her feet in a daze, she turned and began walking out the alleyway.

Kelevi was not concerned for her fate, the spell he had cast on her would bring out her most primal nature, if anyone laid a hand on her, the person would be facing the true ferocity that lay hidden within the mortal heart.

Kelevi turned back, staring down the alleyway the prey had taken, with a shrug he followed the trail at a slow and leisure pace.
