A Final Condition (Ch.165)

"Your words, can I trust in them?"Kaylani asked doubtfully.

Kaylani knew well enough the answer to her question, the last person she could hope to put her trust in was a demon, but Kaylani also knew she did not have a choice regardless.

The demons would get to their king, if it meant they had to pry Kaylani's head open or gift her the dismembered bodies of everyone she had ever known, it was just what it was.

This was a futile attempt at bargaining with beings that were thousands of years older than Kaylani could begin to imagine,

But if it was a bargain that could possibly keep her world safe, Kaylani was willing to make it no matter how futile it was.

"I know you must not have a very pleasant opinion of demons, given how our race is usually portrayed as the representation of evil in mortal accounts and fairytales."

"But every tale you have read or watched on your large screens cannot begin to define my kind as what we truly are."
