Sad Raccoon

"Umm.." Yao Xinyu did not know how to speak in this situation.

Her best friend laughing at the side did not help her in the least. She was clearly enjoying Flare being this way. But Yao Xinyu did not want to see him this way in the least.

But, what could she even do? She can't throw her friend out of her house for his sake either.

She had to do something to make Flare and Estella become friends so that everyone could stay together happily.

Hence she softly caressed his head and spoke, "Flare, honey, Estella may look…." She paused for a second as she did not know which single word could help her describe her best friend clearly, "wild? Yeah.. she may look wild but she is a very good person. Why don't you try becoming friends with her huh?"

Flare did not even take his head out to look at anyone. Instead he buried himself into her arms even further so that he could get away from this 'cruel world'.

Yao Xinyu could do nothing but sigh at his introverted reaction. She then gave a glare at her best friend. What did this woman do to make this poor fellow get this scared?

Being on the receiving end of her glare, Estalla stuck out her tongue playfully making everyone else in the room shake their heads in resignation.

Yao Xinyu continued patting Flare's back as she said, "Okay okay, Flare. Let us ignore this wild woman. We don't want her as our friend, okay?"

Estella gave her a pout and grumbled showing her dissatisfaction, which Yao Xinyu decided to ignore.

Flare did not come out of her arms but he visibly relaxed when he heard his mother allowing him to not befriend that scary and stinky woman.

But to his dismay, his human mother continued again, "Let us just be friends with Moana, okay? She is a beautiful doll after all. We can get another sister, right? Hmm? What do you say?"

He escaped from the big demon but now his mother was throwing him towards the small demon? Why is his life so sad and filled with all these demons?

Flare, this time, came out of Yao Xinyu's arms. Yao Xinyu smiled and felt happy that he was at least ready to befriend the little doll whom she liked very much.

But before she could speak another word with Flare, he jumped out of her arms and sprinted outside the door.

In a dejected state he decided to take a walk outside. At least until his heart calmed down and if possible until the two demons go back to their place.

Yao Xinyu wanted to chase after him but her husband stopped her, "It is okay. Let him take a walk."

"But.. What if he loses his way back? Should I let Hao Yu go along with him?" She turned her head to call for her son but her husband stopped her once again.

He gave her a helpless look and said, "I trust Flare more than that dummy Hao Yu."

"Dad~ Are you speaking bad about me again? I am not a dummy, okay? I am very smart. Right, Mom?" Hao Yu heard his father's words and protested at once before trying to get his mother's support.

Yao Xinyu blinked her eyes looking at her son and turned back towards her husband, "Hmm, I think Flare would be okay going alone."

She indirectly agreed with her husband's words while trying her best to not hurt her elder son's heart.

She then sent her son back to play with both his sisters. She then again gave a worried look towards the door.

Her husband held her hand to comfort her, "It is okay. Give him some time to calm down. It was the first time he faced new people other than our family. He will take some time before he gets used to them, right?"

Thinking about it, from the time Flare came to their home, he had never interacted with anyone else other than their small family of four. Hence it is not surprising that he was a little overwhelmed by the sudden intrusion of new people into his life.

He had taken so much time to get close to them in the start too. Hence it is no wonder that he would hide himself from the new people.

Thinking of it this way, she felt that her husband's words made sense. They should give him some time.

She smiled and gave him a nod but her worry for Flare was not lost even with the mask of her smile. Her husband could only sigh and give both his wife and Flare some time.

Her being worried for Flare is nothing wrong either. He understood this fact.
