Sorrow

Darkness.

That was the first thing I sensed.

It was exceptionally dark. Next came a debilitating sensation that ravaged my mind, tearing it apart and piecing it back together as I battled an immense sense of helplessness and the unknown.

Who was I?

I wasn't just some floating existence of consciousness.

Something was telling me I was someone, but each time I nearly grasped the answer to this question, it constantly slipped from me like an elusive wisp of smoke.

Again, again, and again.

Frustration mounted and with each layer, a horrible sensation seeped in, coursing through the darkness that had been my solitude.

And I wanted out.

I wanted it all gone this instant!

The mounting bundle of clustered sensations were disrupted by a violent wave.

That wave in turn formed an indescribable sound that blared loud and clear.

"Get up."
