"It's you again." Elysia mumbled as she looked at the boy before her.
"Yes, it's me." The boy replied.
"I can't see you. I want to see you." She said and he smiled.
"Wait you will." He leaned in and kissed her. "Bye."
Elysia opened her eyes and batted her eyelashes for a few seconds before looking around. She touched her lips and felt it moist.
"Did it really happen?" She asked looking around.
"Why are you acting all confused?" She heard Linda's voice.
"Because I am confused. As in I'm confused big time."
Linda walked to her and sat next to her. "And why are you confused? You had another dream or nightmare or what?"
"Yes. The boy kissed me and when I woke up I could feel it." Elysia frowned.
"It's just your imagination Elysia. No one could get to you in person, not even in your dreams okay?" Linda assured and Elysia nodded although she was still confused.
"That's my girl." Linda smiled.
Elysia nodded and watched Linda walk out of the room. "Twilight."
Twilight who was sleeping next to her woke up and flew to her.
"Will you help me look for him? I don't know how he looks like but you'll be able to find him right?" Elysia asked and the owl looked at her confused. "Come on. Isn't he the only male out there? Why won't you find him?"
Twilight looked away showing her he was highly disappointed in her. Elysia was still confused.
"Aunt Linda said there isn't any other gender in this world that only one male was created. When I saw him I knew he was the only make aunt Linda was talking about aren't I right?" Elysia frowned.
Twilight pecked her head and she winced. "Hey, that wasn't nice." She rubbed her veiled head pouting. "I'm only saying what I know."
Elysia wanted to see that boy so badly. Maybe that was the last time she was going to see him since he said goodbye. "Come on Twilight, you have to help me."
Twilight didn't even look back at her, he just went to the window and flew out. Elysia was disappointed but she just kept it.
Elysia kept on loosing focus during practice and almost hurt herself when practicing spells. She sighed as she fell on the bed in her room.
"I'm going crazy." She whimpered as she looked up at the mosiac. "Perhaps some art will help me. I can play a harp or a piano or my flute will be better."
Elysia walked to her table and picked a beautifully carved flute in the drawer. The flue had feathers of a peacock at the end and stripes green and blue where the feather was attached to. She walked to the window and sat down gently and started playing the flute.
Everyone in the whole of Magicia was drawn to the beautiful sound of flute coming from the little veiled witch's tower. The ocean behind the school started to dance gently to the tune of her flute and same goes to the lake and fountains in the school.
Unknown to her the effect her flute playing was making she just continued playing the flute. The sound of the flute went as far as the woods not far from the school and the mountains ahead.
"Elysia stop playing the flute now." Linda quickly rushed in and carried Elysia away from the window, closing the curtains.
"Why?" Elysia asked.
"Who taught you how to play the flute?" Linda asked.
"I was just playing what I liked. Why did you stop me? I was just trying to clear my head." Elysia frowned.
"Your flute sound is affecting things outside. No one was able to use any water because of it and the sound is giving signals to enemies who might come looking for you." Linda explained and Elysia frowned.
"If it is enchanted like that then why did you give it to me?" Elysia asked.
"I didn't choose to give it to you. It just decides it's master. Do you remember when I gave it to you it was in a box and the box disappeared when you opened it?" Elysia nodded. "The box has gone to the location where you will give it to the next owner. And see the peacock feathers on it? It isn't just any peacock feathers. I would rather not give you the flute either. I didn't know you knew how to play it. Just don't play it again for safety reasons."
Elysia returned the flute in the drawer rolling her eyes behind the veil. Can't she enjoy what she wants because of this so called magic.
"So I'll just sit down jobless in the room? I'm bored aunt Linda." Elysia complained and Linda have her the violin which was resting on the wall.
"Then play this instead of the flute." She said and Elysia collected the violin and started playing it.
To Linda's surprise like that of the flute it had an effect. But instead of the water everything turned slow following the rhythm of the violin. Linda used her magic to snatch the violin out of her hands making Elysia frown.
"Let me guess again it had an effect?" Elysia folded her arms across her chest and pouted.
"You know it's not fair. I don't have anything to do." Elysia complained and Linda just sighed.
"I think we'll have to get rid of all musical instruments for now. I have a very bad feeling about you playing it. Just don't touch the flute again." Linda pat her veiled head before picking all the instruments on the instrument rack and they all disappeared as she mumbled some magic words.
"So can you tell me the real reason why you are not taking it away? You know me since I was born aunt Linda. If I want to do something nothing can stop me." Elysia opened her hands and the violin appeared on her hand. "Not even you."
"This is not a time to be troublesome Elysia. This is really serious. If you can control time with violin and control water with flute then there's something we ought to know about. Please be obedient this time." Linda pleaded and Elysia shrugged and the violin disappeared. "Thanks."
Elysia could not help but burst into tears due to frustration. Linda looked down at the little girl who just burst into tears suddenly. "What's wrong Elysia?" She had rarely seen Elysia cry, not even when she was a baby.
"I'm tired. I'm fed up." Elysia screamed. "This isn't the first thing I'm not allowed to do because of one thing of the other. If not because of the enemies, it will be because I'm hurting someone with it. Why is it me? I just want to live like any other normal kid."
Linda sighed and carried Elysia in her arms. Elysia hugged her tight still crying. "It is okay Elysia. Very soon you'll learn how to control those things so not to others."
"When will the very soon come? When will it come? Is it when I'm old already? It's not fair." Elysia sobbed. "Why can't I just learn to control everything now."
"Some things have to wait till the perfect time Elysia. Something wrong might happen if you try to learn things you ought not to know. It'll be okay Elysia. The day you'll be able to move out of the school freely, the day you would be able to see the outside world you've dreamt of. But for now you have to remain hidden and don't do some things to protect you." Linda consoled her and she nodded. "That's my sweetheart. Don't cry anymore alright. I know you've been holding it for long."
Linda pat the little girl in her arms' back gently and placed her on the bed. Elysia covered herself with the blanket and looked up at the glowing crystals above her.
"What if that day never comes aunt Linda." She said just above a whisper but Linda caught it clearly.
"Have faith Elysia, it will come." Linda pat her shoulders gently. "I'll take my leave now."
As soon as Linda left Twilight flew in and landed next to Elysia. He looked at her questioningly. Elysia looked back at him as if she was also asking him a question.
"I was just playing a flute nothing much." She finally replied and he looked away. "Did you find him?"
Twilight didn't even bother answering her. He just turned his back and stood there. "Well, aunt Linda is right. A pet copies it's owner's traits."
Elysia sat up looking at the closed windows. One could easily tell that she was lost in thoughts. She suddenly looked away from the window and waved her hands making the book of counter spells appear out of nowhere. She flipped the pages and when she got to the folded page she took a deep breath.
"Get ready Twilight, we'll be planning to leave this school very soon."
