Elysia fell into the lake surprised. The lake looked deeper than she had expected on the outside. She felt her veil being lifted slowly. She grabbed on to as she cast a barrier around it.
She could see the root of the tree wrapping itself around her. She was slowly losing consciousness as she couldn't last long underwater.
"I wished I had listened, and I didn't go out of the school." She thought as her eyes started to give in.
Suddenly she was out of the water, which surprised her. She looked around through her almost shut eyes. She heard growling behind her, and she came to face another monster.
"Magicia....." She couldn't complete the words when she fell on the ground, unconscious.
"Elysia." A distance voice called, and she slowly opened her eyes. Everything seemed a blur and her head was spinning. A crystal mosaic welcomed her as she sat up.
"Elysia." She heard Linda's voice clearly, and she looked at her. "What the hell were you thinking?"
The door of the tower suddenly opened with force, making it slam into the wall. Elysia was sure if the wall was human, he would die instantly. That wasn't the only thing that surprised Elysia, but the woman standing there.
Elysia could feel the strong presence of her aura. It wasn't dark, it wasn't that pure either. The woman's skin was glossy, and her skin figure stood elegantly, her leaf brown hair fell down her shoulders.
As she walked closer, Elysia studied her. Her eyes were striking brown and her nose was pointed, her heart shaped lips which were exactly like Elysia's were turned down due to her frowning and the same goes to her slender eyebrows that were furrowed.
"And can you tell me the reason you left the school?" Her voice was cold and scary, making Elysia raise her brows behind her veil instead of being scared.
"And who are you?" She asked with her more cold voice.
"Is that how to talk to someone older than you are? Linda, I don't think you taught this girl any manners." The woman turned to Linda, who just rolled her eyes.
"Not like you can teach me any better than she can. You can't just disrupt my peace by barging into my residence and talking to me the way you want." Elysia hissed, pissing the woman off.
"It's okay Lucinda and just tell her who you are already." Linda frowned and the woman, Lucinda, wouldn't do as Linda said. "Fine then. Elysia, this is your mother."
Elysia looked at Lucinda from head to toe then back at Linda then at Lucinda again. "She's the useless mother insulting you on what she's not any good at."
"Elysia?" Linda looked at the little girl surprised, and Lucinda looked at her with utmost disbelief.
"How dare you?" Lucinda growled and Elysia sneered.
"And what will you do? Am I any wrong? Aren't you a useless mother who just dumped her daughter for someone else to take care of her? We've been in this same building for seven years, and you didn't deem it fit to visit me, why would I treat you as different from a useless thing."? Elysia crossed her arm around her chest.
"Elysia." Linda put her hands on her shoulders, massaging them slightly. "It's okay. Hush."
"Everything I did, and I'm doing for you isn't enough for you? You ungrateful little witch. Do you think you would still be alive if not for me?" Lucinda spat angrily.
"So what? You did what any other person can do, and so what?" Elysia spat back.
"You are so ungrateful. I had to suffer for years because I had you ungrateful being, and now all you do is talk to me like an uncultured child? Is that how you show gratitude, you stupid little witch.? Lucinda yelled.
"And you think you aren't stupid if you call yourself my mother? And you think you aren't stupid, either? All you care about is yourself." Elysia yelled back, and Lucinda scoffed.
"I care only for myself? If so, I would have gotten rid of you immediately I knew I was carrying you. Am I not doing all in my will to protect you from those who seek your powers?" Lucinda yelled.
"And if we search well, it'll be in your favor if I'm not wrong. Don't you think you can just spit out me respecting you because I don't know you." Elysia snorted.
"I regret choosing to keep you, you ingrate." Lucinda hissed.
"It's okay, you two. Are you both out of your minds? Elysia, no matter what she is still your mother, and you have to respect her. You're just seven, and you've grown wings, what if you're beyond that? Lucinda, you're acting all up like a kid having an argument with her. What is wrong with both of you?" Linda yelled and they both kept quiet. "You came here for something, and all you're doing now is yell and insult her."
"Once she gets her manners, I'll say a word to her." Lucinda walked towards the door.
"Magicia selezio Novo." A large fireball appeared and hit Lucinda before she could counter it, pushing her out of the room, and the door slammed shut. "Good riddance."
"Elysia, how can you do that?" Linda gasped but Elysia just covered herself with the blanket trying to get back to sleep. Her head was spinning more after yelling so much.
"I don't give a damn. She just can't come in here and scold me. Who does she think she is?" She can't teach me any manner, she's insulting you for not teaching me well." Elysia hissed and Linda pat her head, sighing.
"Still she's your mother. All she's doing is to protect you." Linda tried to explain but only got a scoff from the girl.
"Let her tell me herself and stop acting like a six years old rather than a two thousand years old person." Elysia snorted and Linda gasped.
"Well, I see you took everything from her. You're both cold, arrogant and rude." Linda sighed.
"I'm not arrogant. I know I'm cold at times, but I'm not rude." Elysia hissed, closing her eyes. "I'm going to sleep, so do not disturb me."
"You should eat something and take some herbs." Linda said, but the little girl just ignored her. "Elysia."
"I'm not. Give me breathing space, Aunt Linda." Elysia snapped, and the woman behind her sighed heavily.
"Something seems different about you that I can't quite point out." Linda frowned and Elysia lifted her fingers.
"My fingers refused to turn back to their normal colors and remained black." Elysia mumbled and Linda took her fingers.
"Dark magic." Linda frowned. "Magicia edacio."
Linda's spell was nothing on it. The fingers remained black. Even though Lucinda had cleansed her, it remained there.
"When did you notice the change?" Linda asked.
"I saw it through my almost closed eyes when I was pulled out of the water." Elysia replied with her eyes still closed behind her veil. She didn't seem a bit worried about the black nails.
"You were pulled out of the water? Did you cast a spell?" Linda asked.
"The spell I could only bring myself to cast was the one to protect my veil from being removed, even though I know it's useless against that tree or whatever was talking to me." Elysia replied now opening her eyes.
"This is so weird, that means the owner of the power is more powerful than your mother, and I'm really sure it wasn't that tree. Come here, let me see if there's anything again." Linda sat her up and she grabbed her head as it continued to spin. "Sorry."
Linda pulled off the upper part of Elysia's body. She gasped when she saw her back. "What is this?"
"What?" Elysia frowned as Linda covered her mouth.
"Magicia replicado." Linda forced herself to say, and the image appeared before Elysia making her gasp as she read what was on her back.
There was an inscription 'Mine' and bite marks which looked scary. "How did this happen? Did that beast bite you?"
"I wasn't bleeding. How can a beast write mine on my back like I'm his property." Elysia frowned and Linda quickly dressed her.
"I'm going to be back. I'm still going to scold you for going out of the school, so don't think you've escaped me. Take the herbs now, it'll help with your head." Linda gave her the bowl of herbs before stepping out of the tower.
"Twilight." Elysia squealed as she saw an owl fly in. He landed on her laps and pecked her lips. "I missed you too. I'm sorry I pushed you out."
"Lucinda. Lucinda." Linda walked into Lucinda's tower hastily.
"What is it, Linda?" Lucinda groaned as she was busy with a potion.
"I'm not here to scold you for acting childish, I'm just here to tell you there's going to be trouble."
